On mine I have to go to display properties and set device choices. If you have a display icon on your taskbar right click(display properties, output to..monitor)

How to hook up my toshiba c655 to tv and have audio

If you have HDMI out on your laptop, it should send the sound and picture to your TV (make sure appropriate drivers are installed).

If you only have VGA out, then it will not send sound. Tthe only other option is if your TV has Audio IN (either 3.5mm headphone jack, or RCA Left/Right), then you could connect the headphone jack of your laptop to the TV that way.

How do i connect my laptop to my kde p42xs1

You will need a vga to vga cord....hook one end up to your monitor out on your latop and the other end to the monitor in of your tv....power tv on and select the correct input...(monitor or vga-rgb)....Power on your laptop and find on your top keys (f1-f10) your monitor picture. Should be f8 or f5...when you find the right one, push and hold your function key and while holding it tap the key with the monitor on it...on my laptop its f5....That should send a signal out to the tv.....Some pcs if you do it again you can see video on both pc and tv at the same time...gd luck

Hooked my laptop up to monitor and picture will not appear, no signal detected, any quick fixes?

Did you tell the laptop to turn on the external video output? Most do not have this on unless you tell it to. What kind of a laptop is it?

Hooking up to mu computer the monitor states no signal

Is the monitor set to the correct input source? Is the cable fully seated on both the computer and the monitor? Try a new cable. Is the computer sending the video signal to that port that has the cable? Laptops sometimes need the external video port enabled in the BIOS, for example. Check your manual to access the BIOS; frequently it is F1, F2 or ESC pressed before the OS starts to load. Some newer desktop computers do not have the VGA port enabled initially as well.

I hope this helps.

My tv won't recognize that my laptop is connected to it, what do i do?

After connecting the VGA cable, make sure you select the correct input from the TV's input selection. Once you have selected it, hold down the Function key "FN" located on the lower left of your keyboard, and also press the F key on the top row which will say lcd or a picture of a monitor on it. Usually F5, F7 or F8. This tells the computer you just added an additional monitor to it. Doing this once sends the image to the TV. Twice will remove image from laptop and only display on the TV. A third time restores image to PC and nothing on the TV. Let us know this worked. ;o)

My monitor comes on for about three seconds when I turn the computer or the monitor off/on and then it fades to black. It looks like the computer is booting up fine when I can briefly see the screen but...

Connect the monitor to the "video-output" port on your laptop, to see if the monitor is working correctly.
You make have to tell the laptop to send the video-output to "both" the internal LCD screen and the external monitor.

If it works, then your monitor is OK.
Restart your computer, and keep tapping the F8 key, until you get a menu of startup items. Choose the 'VGA' startup option, to select the "minimal" device-drivers for your video-card. With the "minimal" drivers, your monitor should still be working.

Samsung Syncmaster 760V doesn't have picture

You might have a resolution-too-high problem, or more likely, the laptop is sending output towards a different video port. Some laptops have a function + key labeled "CRT/LCD" or sporting a small stylized video: try checking that first.

My laptop is on and plugged to the monitor, but the monitor says no signal

You have to switch your laptop to a different display mode. Usually it's done by pressing Fn key and F8 - look for a description near this key showing rectangle / rounded rectangle, or text "CRT / LCD".
Usually there are 3 modes:
LCD (internal laptop display) only
LCD + CRT - the picture shows on both displays
CRT - the picture shows only on the external display, allowing you to set a different screen resolution, equivalent to the external monitor's optimum resolution.
