It appears that the loading belt on my Yamaha CD Changer, Model CDC-715, has stretched and I can't find a replacement other than a site in Australia. Is there a belt cross reference published that gives me the size or somewhere domestically that it can be ordered?

How old is the DVD player? I have a Yamaha 5-disk player and the rubber drive belt that wraps around the drawer motor and connected to the pulley for the drawer was stretched out and useless. Just bought a new one online and voila!

The lazer is shot. Could cost $150 to $280, to have it (repaired)

Part Number VQ776900. I got it online for 99 cents but other places can be up to 7-8.00 dollars. I removed 5 screws on the sides and rear of the case. Took case off. Press the open button and help the drawer open with your hand while the motor tries to. Then remove old belt with pliers or paper clip, etc.
I did not take anything apart on the inside to replace the belt. Push the belt into the player over the larger wheel and then I pulled the belt with a paper clip over the smaller drive wheel.

Without me seeing it, it usually cannot read the disc and is caused by a defective, or needs to be adjusted or cleaned, laser assembly as long as it is every cd put in it. It can also be the disc spinner motor. Either one of those is the most likely cause. :)

Any decent repair shop should have a large supply of replacement belts. The Part number isn't necessary. Just take the old one in and get a new one just 2mm smaller than the original. Some repair shops won;t sell them because they don't want you repairing your own property but a decent shop should sell you one.

The drawer belt may also lift the laser up to meet the CD . If the belt is bad , the CD player will kick out the CD.
