I think the model of this fan is 52" Redington IV, it only has a remote. No pull chains, etc. The fan is currently on high and when you push 'fan off' button on the remote nothing happens. The light won't come on either. When you try to operate the remote, the red light comes on but the fan does not respond. Tried replacing the battery, same problem.

We have a ceiling fan which we bought from Sears about 12 years ago and it is remote control for both fan speed and light plus temperature monitoring and light dimming, the remote does not indicate battery power or work. How can I replace this remote? Sears indicates that it is Manufacture discontinue.
