We have a Kenmore Elite Calypso washing machine, we get an ''ld'' or a ''ca'' displayed every time we try to wash. This occurs 3-5 minutes after starting the cycle.
What does ''ca'' and ''ld'' mean? and what can I do?

"Ld" (Long Drain) flashes
Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
• "CA" or "Cl" (Current Limit)
Is the washer overloaded?
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code LD means Long Drain. It flashes when washer takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets.
Error code CA means Average current limit. This error code will display if the load of clothes is more then the normal load. Also if current limit breaches then status signal comes back from the motor controller. The unit will return to standby mode and display CA. Average current trip occurs if the current draw at the motor windings is greater than 5.55 amps in 2 seconds. This error occurs if there is a problem with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Over-loading the unit may cause this problem.
