Hoover self-propelled u6630-900 reverse not working

I have a Hoover self-propelled model u6630-900 that the reverse doesn't work that good any more. Forward is ok. Reverse grabs a little but not strong enough to push the cleaner. Is there an adjustment to solve this problem?

Move the carpet height control switch to a higher position if the vacuum is difficult to push. If the setting is too low for the carpet being cleaned, the brushes press against the floor preventing the vacuum from moving easily.Set to a medium-high height setting then check.Slide the "Self-Propel" button to the "ON" position if the cleaner does not self-propel. -----------
The self-propel feature operates only when the cleaner switch and the self propel button are both ON. ---------- Try this settings and check. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Self Propel doesn't work on Hoover Wind Tunnel

Your self propel wire could be broken. Lean the vacuum back like you were using it. If you stand in front of the vacuum look down and to your left. When you move the selp propel button you should see a wire move. If not then it's broken.

Why wont the self propelled brush on the hoover wind tunnel work. large belt is ok. the small belt looks 0k.

no don't do that, have a little patience.check where the self propelled assembly is and see if anything got in there, something might be loose and the teeth are meeting each other.thats a good vavuum.i have 2 but their not self propelled.try taking the belt off the self propelled machanisn and try it again.if it works then something is keeping the propelled machanism from working.dig a little deeper, what do you have to lose?

Can't get bottom plate off hoover model

Am a bit confused because I can't find the model number you give on the Hoover website, so am not sure exactly which machine we're dealing with. However, the procedure for removing the bottom plate is common to most self-propelled upright wind-tunnel models, and it's simply a matter of laying the machine flat, turning it over and removing the four recessed screws that hold it in place. It can then just be lifted off. If this doesn't work for you, perhaps you could confirm the model number and I'll try again. It will also help if you say what country you're in. Good luck!

Self Propelled does not work

if you look below the headlamp of your vac you will find a cable that attach's to a piece called the actuator arm. either this piece is likely broke or the cable itself. always work the power drive smoothly or things will break. also could be that the smooth belt is stretched and will cause the same problem. belts should be replaced every 4 months. good news is all parts above should be under $5. dont let anyone tell you that you need a power drive assy, that usually isnt the case. good luck!!!

No suction on Windtunnel 6630-900. All belts work, brush turns, it just won't pick up anything.

How do you replace the forward / reverse cable? How do you replace the forward / reverse cable?

I don't know how the end fits back on the replacement cable.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Vacuum. There is a hook on the bottom of the vacuum and @ the top by the handle as well. You may what to get a schematic or owner’s manual to see how they hook up because of the newer and different Model #’s for Hoover. The Hoover Self-Propelled works on when the handle is lower to a comfortable position then the self-propelled drive may just need and adjustment. There is a self-propelled rod that controls the self-propelled feature and it either needs adjustment or replacement or the part that hold it may be broken but either one can be fixed.
