Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

On 2 different games press start returns to menu

Inserted disc - pressed start - it cycled thru a screen with 12 grey/white wii rounded boxes (3 down by 4 across) - returned to menu screen.
tried ejecting  - turning off - unplugging for 60 seconds - restarting and retrying - same result
Games affected are Hanna Montana & Mario Super Strikers ... others OK.
Please advise

Problems with some games (not all)

  • Are you able to play one type of Game Disc but not another (for example, you can play Wii Game Discs but not Nintendo GameCube Game Discs)? If so, then it is likely there is a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair options.

  • Check the bottom of the Game Disc (the side without any labels or writing) for any dirt or damage (such as cracks, scratches, etc.).

    • If the games look significantly damaged, such as with scratches or cracks, it will need to be replaced. Please click here for our Game Disc replacement options.

    • If the game looks dirty (fingerprints, smudges), try cleaning the Game Discs by clicking here. If the problem persists, the Game Discs will need to be replaced. Please click here for our Game Disc replacement options.
If the above information does not solve your problem, then it appears there is a problem with the Wii console and it will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair options.

How to connect wii fit board to the wii

Important Note!
Do Not use "One-Time Mode" sync.
Syncing can be completed only if a compatible game disc is running in the console. The Wii Balance Board may need to be synced to each compatible game individually. Some games may require you to go into a specific screen to sync the Wii Balance Board. These sync settings will be saved even after the console is turned off.

1. Insert a Wii Balance Board compatible game disc in the Wii console.
2. Use the Wii Remote to select the Disc Channel from the Wii Menu, then select "Start" to begin the game.3. Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console.4. Remove the Battery Cover on the bottom of the Wii Balance Board.
5. Press and release the SYNC button on the Wii Balance Board. The Power LED on the board will start blinking.
6. Press and release the SYNC button on the console while the Power LED on the board is still blinking.
7. The Power LED will stop blinking and light steadily once the synchronization is complete.8. Replace the battery cover and return the board to the normal operating position.

My Wii will not not read Wii disc's...HELP

Hello :

1:This message can display if you eject a disc during game play. If this is when the message displayed, make sure that you return to the Wii Menu before changing discs if you wish to play a different game.
2:If your Wii console is laying flat, it may be positioned upside down. Ensure that is positioned right-side up: the game disc slot should be above all three buttons and the SD Card slot.
3:Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc.
4: your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
5: If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards
6:If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have the same problem with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc

good luck .

rate please !

Here are the steps that worked for some:
1. Completely power down the console.
2. Power up the console and get to the Wii Menu.
3. Eject any disc currently in the console.
4. Press the eject button again, without any discs in the drive.
5. Insert the disc that you would like to play.

If this doesn't work then contact Wii customer support.

Disk format

1) Turn on machine
2) Open Tray
3) With tray still open hold the reset until the tray closes.
4) Tap the reset once.
if there is a format disc error, it says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc." It is accompanied by a sound similar to the browser, but with a more tense noise. This is caused by a disc being so badly scratched that it completely fails to recognise the format, or if there is a problem with the laser. Auto-Diagnosis (PlayStation 2 system) 1. Turn on the system without a disc inside. 2. Once at the Main Menu, press the triangle button to enter the Version Information Screen. 3. Highlight the "Console" option, and then press the triangle button again. 4. Next, press the X button, highlight "On", and then press the X button once more. 5. Now press the circle button twice to return to the Main Menu. 6. Press the eject button on the front of the console, and insert a disc. 7. Now close the disc tray, but DO NOT reset the system. 8. Highlight the Browser option from the Main Menu, and then press the X button. 9. In the Browser, an icon of the disc should appear on the screen. Highlight this icon, and then press the X button to read the disc. 10. If the auto-diagnosis is successful, the disc should load properly at this point.NOTE: The auto-diagnosis feature will return to "Off" the next time a disc is inserted.

Discs wont register on wii system, remote wont work either

You need to sync the remote with the console.
Remove the battery cover from the remote and press the red
button until the blue lights start to blink. At the same time,
press the the red button to the front of the console.  You
can access this button by removing a small cover on the front
of the console. This will reset the machine and you should
start to see th cursor in the tv screen. Repeat this if necessary
and you should be on your way. Good luck
