Why the washer plugged in to couse the shortage? I had the same problem and replaced the Hall effect sensor, while I was at it I clean the machine inside out, now it runs like a charm. remember to reset the control panel after any replacements, to clear the error message, unplug the unit and plug the unit back up again the machine will go through self diagnistic and starts from the main page on the panel. Good luck. I suggeset to reset the panel first before changing any parts, so you know what parts needs to be replaced.

Filter*** circuit = house circuit breaker or ???

There are 5 solutions for this problem
1) house voltage (voltage to low)
2) Inverter
3) Motor (if motor only turns in one direction)
4) wire connection to the low voltage
5) Hall sensor at rotor (only turns a 20% of speed)

let me know if I can help you more...

Drain line clogged on Whirlpool model ET1CHMXKB09. How do I access the drain line?

Hello.

Washing machines, like any other mechanical device, occasionally needs servicing. A common problem with most old washing machine is that the spinner, or agitator, drain,or stops rotating during wash cycles. Fortunately, most washing machine problems are easy to troubleshoot. Any do-it-your self offer can fix it; here's how.

TOOLS NEEDED TO SOLVE PROBLEM ARE BELOW.

Bucket and rags,Screwdriver,
New drive belt (if necessary),
New drive motor (if necessary).

1 Unplug the washing machine, and turn off the water supply to the machine. If necessary, remove the water hoses from the back of the washing machine because they may be in the way of the access panel.

2 Check that the agitator is seated correctly by opening the lid of the washing machine. If it's loose, pop off the top of the agitator--if there is one--and tighten the bolt that holds the agitator in place. Or, in some models, simply pull straight up and then reseat the agitator.

3 Remove the access panel located in the back of the washing machine by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. This allows access to the drive motor.

4 Press on the drive belt that works the agitator. If the belt moves more than 3/4 inch, tighten the belt to fix the spinner problem. If the belt is worn or cracked, replace the belt.

5 Replace the drive motor, if tightening or replacing the drive belt doesn't fix the agitator. Purchase a new drive motor at a wholesale retailer. Disconnect wiring, remove screws holding motor in place and insert new motor. Screw into place, and connect wiring.

6 Check for any black substance leaking under the washing machine. This might indicate a clutch problem, if the washing machine spinner is not working. Contact a professional repairman to replace the clutch.

Thanks.

My 4 year old Ruud home a/c compressor stopped working. inside fan blows but compressor won't turn on...what can I do prior to calling the gas company who installed the unit...

Ruud parts warranty from factory is 5 years, the capacitor has possible gone out, it will be in the contol compartment on the out side unit and is a dual run capacitor that controls the compressor and fan motor. Recommend if capacitor is bad to replace entire capacitor. As Stated above the parts are under warranty if under five years old. To verify age the date code is in the serial number after the "F" **** week/year of manufacture. Also outside unit has independent power supply so check fuses if any and circuit breaker.

Kenmore model 3639550610. Ice maker motor and freezer fan motor wont stop. Need to find wiring diagram.

Hello,
If fridge repair because it is noisy, turning off and on, or running all the time, it could be a sign the condenser fan motor is going bad. Thankfully, this type of repair is not as complicated as some may think. You can check the condenser fan motor yourself and replace it if necessary.

Tools and Materials Needed:

* Multitester
* Screwdriver
* Needlenose pliers

Step 1 - Disconnect the Power

Turn off the power to the refrigerator to prevent electric shock.

Step 2 - Remove the Condenser Fan Motor

The condenser fan motor is located on the bottom of the fridge, most likely toward the back. Heat from inside the fridge is released into the air here. A panel will probably need to be removed to access the motor. Depending on the screw, a screwdriver or nut driver will be required to remove the panel. Find the condenser fan and motor. You can quickly check the fan's operation by seeing if anything is obstructing its rotation. Manually move the fan blades to see if they spin freely. If they do not, you may need to replace the fan. Continue removing the condenser fan motor by taking out the screws that affix it to the mounting bracket.

Step 3 - Test the Condenser Motor

Your condenser fan motor will most likely have 3 wires attached. Some models have just 2. Note which wires are connected from the fan to the motor. Use needle-nose pliers to remove the wire connectors from the motor. Be careful not to damage the wires. After the connectors are removed, use the multitester to check the resistance or passage of electrical current. Set your multitester to ohms.

If the condenser motor has 3 terminals, only the outside terminals need to be checked. The inside one is a ground terminal. Check the terminals by using the multitester probes, touching one probe to one terminal and the other probe to the other terminal. The reading should fall between 0 and infinity. If you reading falls on either 0 or infinity, then the condenser motor is bad and will need to be replaced.

Step 4 - Replacing the Condenser Motor

Condenser fan motors can be ordered from the refrigerator's manufacturer. Once you receive the new motor, check it with your multimeter the same way as the old motor. This will make sure the new motor is in working condition. Attach the wire connectors to the new motor in the identical locations as the old one. You can refer to the new motor's wiring diagram (most likely included with it) if assistance is needed. Now install the new motor under the fridge. Attach it to the mounting bracket using the same screws as before.

Step 5 - Testing the New Motor and Keeping it Efficient

With the new motor connected and attached, turn the power back on. The unit should operate correctly. If it does not come on, check the wiring. Dust and dirt can plug a condenser and affect the fan's ability to discharge heat. Cleaning them several times a year will help the fridge run efficiently.
Hope this help in solving.take care....

Hello I live in Las Vegas and have a tempastar 2200 heat pump. The unit is approx 6 years old. The fan motor was making alot of noise and then quit. When I inspected the motor there was alot of play in the...

Depending on where you bought the motor, you should be able to return it for a warranty exchange...seeing as how the motor is only a month old.

Before replacing the motor, I would first inspect the blades. If the blades are out of pitch or balance, it will cause severe issues with motors. Inspect the blades for cracks or obvious signs of warping or bent areas.

Next, you need to ensure the motor is receiving the correct voltage. This will cause a motor to burn out fairly quickly.

When it comes to wiring, I have seen before where you absolutely must wire the new motor exactly the same way as the old. This refers to the 3 or 4 wire set-up. KISS (Keep it simple stupid) Stick with what its got in the first place.

Next, check to see if the motor you purchased has oil ports on it. If it does, then there is the slight chance the motor did not have sufficient motor oil when shipped and purchased by the consumer.
If there are no oil ports, then the motor is sleave bearings and the motor requires no oil at all, ever.

If the motor will run, no matter how brief it may be....turn the unit on and let the motor run until it quits again. The check the motor temp. If its blazing hot, then the motor is overheating and shutting down on IOL. (internal overload). If this happens, you want to check the supplied voltage, run capacitor (must be sized according to new motor, not old capacitor), fan blades for proper placement on shaft, rotation, or damage.

Knowing those few simple things when the motor shuts down will help out extremely when it comes to finding the root cause to the problem.

Hi there, my Wii that I purchased over a year ago, doesn't seem to be able to play the new games that i rent

This can be caused by a dirty laser in the drive. Try cleaning the laser in the drive, and if that does not fix the problem, the laser may need to be replaced. The reason it can read old games and not new ones is because new games use alot more of the full potential of the laser. The laser has to pull in alot more information from the disk, and even if the laser is a little bit dirty, it will not work. Contact Nintendo and see if the unit is still under warranty. If your unit is not under warranty, go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can clean/replace the laser for you. We give a free diagnosis of what is wrong with the unit, and will call with an estimate of repair. All our work comes with a 30 day warranty, and you can buy up to 4 years worth of warranty.

I have a quinton club track treadmill that posts an E203 error

E203 = Motor unable to run. Usually caused by the VSD Lower Board. This board is about 14" square on a Quinton Clubtrack Hyperdrive 3.0

Rather difficult to remove escpecially if your not familair with electronical compnents in a tight space.

My reapir coast $374 from J&R Technical Services and exactly one year later I got the exact same code. Warranty is 90 days.

It appears they rebuilt one of the components on the board called a Phase Modulator. There are three of them. They stated they had replaced it, but upon close inspection it appears that simply replaced the bad micro-component on the modulator and reinstalled the exact same phase again.

I'm debating whether to trust them once again. Little choice though since they control the market and have the equipment to reset the board upon repair. Nobody at thome has this equipment.

Fridge Problem

Hello mikemloy.
Welcome to Fixya

You said, your Fridge is 3-4 years old. It has power (the light works) but the motor does not run therefore its not getting cold. Is this likely to be a motor/compressor problem? if so is it worth fixing or should you just replace the unit.

It is only 3 or 4 years old and you bought it new?
I think it may be low on freon, and the compressor will not turn on under these circumstances.
A compressor does not usually go in 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call Frigidaire and if it is the compressor you can ask them to replace it free cause it is only 3 years old. You would be surprised what the right person can do.
I deal with them every day.
They know it is harder to find new customers than to keep the ones you have!
It may only be only a bad thermostat.
I usually tell them I'm about to redo my kitchen and picked all frigidaire Pro steel apliances, BUT I"M NOT going to go with them if they do not make good on my new defective freezer!
( Be real nice and soft spoken and sweet. Not angry and insist, do not give in)

If so your good with a nominal repair.
Try this first, turn the fridge off at the switch inside . And then unplug the unit for 5 minutes.
It must be off at least 3 minutes is why I told you 5 minutes!!!
Some units will reboot their systems and start!

Let me know how it turns out!

When to pull the plug on your dishwasher

Typically, you'll also find a troubleshooting section for more-serious problems in the owner's manual and on the Web sites of many manufacturers.

Should you pay for a repair or buy a new model? The answer depends mostly on the age of your dishwasher, how much you bought it for, and the cost of the repair. Follow these guidelines from our in-house experts:

When a repair makes sense. If your dishwasher is under warranty or less than four years old , paying for a repair makes sense. Note that dishwasher under warranty might require service from a factory-authorized technician; readers have found them on a par with independent repairers.

When a repair might be a wise choice. If your dishwasher is out of warranty and is four to seven years old, it might make sense to pay for a repair. Readers paid $100 to $200 for a repair. But you might want to buy a new model even at this stage, given that today's models are quieter and have added features. They pay for them selves in only a few years due to higher energy efficiency which is another plus: Energy Star-qualified models made after April 28, 2008, are 43 percent more efficient than conventional models built before 2001 and 56 percent more efficient than those built before 1993.

When it pays to replace. The repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new dishwasher. Our data also show that it doesn't pay to fix a less-expensive dishwasher six or more years old .
Thanks to better recycling programs, less than 10 percent of a dishwasher you replace is likely to end up in a landfill.
Thank you for using our services to advice you.
