Re: How do I set the DVD picture to Full Screen as...

That is the way the DVD makers intended it to be. The TV cannot be adjusted to change that if it is a widescreen or "letterbox" movie.

I have wide screen picture and dont know how to get full screen picture

Some sets in this size range will not format the picture in HD at full screen but only 4x3 or letter box format.

Google the model number with "specs" or consult the owner manual to see what the set is designed for.

TruTech T2000D Picture Settings

Somewhere in that menu (look carefully and scroll all the way down on each page) is a setting for format---set should have 4x3 (letterbox), 16x9 which is full screen for HD and may also have zoom and wide zoom.

There should also be a button on the remote for this.

How can I get full screen image without distortion on tv viewing? I only get 4:3, zoom, full and justified. Full looks stretched horizontally with tv, looks ok with dvd.

Most of the telivision transmissions are comes at an aspect ratio of 4:3. Wide aspect ratio is 16:9. If you try to see a picture with aspect ratio 4:3 to wide 16:9, it will look like stretched. it is not the fault of the tv. Most DVD recording have the aspect ratio of 16:9 [Wide]. This aspect ratio will be displayed correctly when your tv is also set to wide mode. If you select normal mode at this condition, the picture will be displayed elongated. Ok Your Tv has no probelm.

On Sony 36 iinch Trinitron TV, when I go to HDTV channels the picture size changes to widescreen. How do I adjust back to full screen on HD? I tried the "no zoom" button but that doesn't work. Cannot...

Please note that all HDTV channels project wide screen pictures. You can still go to settings and then picture mode and change the format to 4:3/full mode.

My akai tv is set on full screen

You should have a button on the remote that came with the TV labeled: format , ratio , wide , picture , somthing like that, different brands of TVs call it different things and I am not familiar with the Akai branded TVs, but when you find it just press it as many times as needed to make the picture look as you want it to.
Good luck !

Everthing won't be completely shown on my television.

It sounds like you have the picture"ratio" set or adjusted wrong, find the button on your remote labeled "ratio","format","wide" any of those, then just press the button multiple times until you get the full picture that you are looking for. If you have digital cable or satellite those receivers also have picture format adjustments in their menu system that need to be set for your type of TV screen(wide 16:9 or standard 4:3). If you need help, your cable company or satellite provider can assist you with info. Good Luck ! P.S. don't forget to refer to your owners manuals.

civilman, the first set has either no high voltage or is collapsed vertically, until someone checks for high voltage there is no concrete answer, the AV27730 is vertical collapse from your description, either the voltage to the vertical IC is missing or the vertical IC has failed, not a big deal cost-wise, hope this answers your questions, if not e-mail me back, good luck, BMW Rider
