I have an eMachine desktop/tower 3230. I need bios upgrade for extra Ram ...

Hello visit emachine here:

And select your pc model by number.

Remember to select the right model, because flashing the bios with a wrong one will destroy the mainboard.

I have newer heard that a bios upgrade was necessary to upgrade the ram.

Some mainboards do have a limit of 2gb ram, and the bios upgrade does nothing to that.

Try to clean the pc out for dust, and renew the the cooling paste between the cpu and the cooling element.

One of the ram modules could have a defect.
Try to test one module at the time.
If you get the blue screen of death, the problem is elsewhere like power supply, or harddrive.

Good luck

Doing a BIOS-upgrade incorrectly can "kill" the motherboard. If you _need_ to upgrade the BIOS, take the computer to a qualified technician.
If you do _NOT_ "need" to upgrade, then don't try.

Hello, I have intel desktop board 845wn mother board and bios version is ''HV84510A.86A.0029.P07'' Actualy i need to update bios. So I downloaded file from below site....

I must write again, because my conection is fall.
Upgrade bios first time is very hard, and upgrade bios is always dengerous.
First read from the site what you give with upgrade bios, and read all about upgrade.
The best solution is upgrade from the floppy, because you can save present bios, if something move bad.
In some case some part of motherboar isn¨t compatible with win. xp, and upgrade bios is solution for some bug on motherboard (broken sound, better CPU, better grafik card, ide and usb ).
It is question can you give anithing with upgrade bios in your case.

But if you want upgrade, do this:
X:\hv86ap15bi.exe (X - name drive in comp. from you boot )
Than upgrade give you a possibility to save your present bios, if you have a floppy save to them.
When you save or not bios then go far, and when is done you need to restart you comp.

Good luck.

Error, upgrade the bios and dinamic drive overlay

the bios is easy to upgrade, you will get what model and series your bios is by pressing f2 on startup, dont make any changes just note the model it will display this on top of the screen, save and exit.

Then go to the manufacturers website and search for the bios upgrade , download and install. hope this helped!

Motherboard will not see the hard drive.need the right bios drivers

Here is your bios updates but I think your hard drive is new one 300MB/ps and also scsi if so find your hard drives manufacturers web page and see support page may be yoy motherboard isn't supported (mainly chipset are old and dont support new fast devices, no point any upgrade of bios).

Upgrade proc from 1.7 to 2.8 ,

Try to find out from manufacture which processors are supported in different bios versions. You might have to upgrade the bios with your old processor as long as the bios you are upgrading to supports the new processor. This is true even if you have to downgrade bios meaning going to an earlier bios. It might not go into bios after the first reboot with old processor because it might not be supported but your new one is. this is when you do the CPU swap.

How do i disable the Onboard Video Card? I have recently installed a new video card, however it seems its been giving conflicts with my IGP so i need to know how to find and disable it on Device Manager...

shutting off the onboard video is not always possible. but it would be in the bios.... configure it to boot to your video card first....

as far as bios upgrades.... the safe thing to do is if everything works properly don't upgrade.

Be that as it may.... go to the website of the maker of your motherboard and search for drivers for your board. most bios upgrades will show you a what bug fixes it is for.
