can't turn on my go video dvd/vhs player, keeps saying word "safe" on tiny screen, and it does not allow me to insert dvd or vhs in player

Unplug it, press the power button, then plug it in and retry it. If it doesn't work, unplug it, press power, and let it sit a couple days, to try to reset everything. There may be a reset pinhole in the back, unplug it and press the reset button.
