My JVC model. my JVC TV LT 42 EM 59 will not come on .I get no blinking blue light no power no nothing I get nothing I've tried to reset it in nothing

With no power it will not reset---if total dead unit you would have to first follow the power cord into the set to the line fuse it goes almost directly to---check the fuse first and examine the power supply board for damage or puffed up filter caps.

Open set if able and follow power cord to the fuse it goes almost directly to.

If open look on power board where cord goes for puffy caps that look like these:

Mitsubishi wd-52327 no power, lights, nothing. Power board? What/how to test? Is it even worth fixing?

follow the power into the set and to the power supply, a lot of these had puffed up caps on the power board kill the whole set-----

You will not find it a real easy set to get into or open up

Gemstar 15" monitor/GM 171-B powers up but nothing on screen

You may have either the DC filter caps problem or the back light inverter board has failed, worst case will be bad lamps assembly. So check for 12vdc on the inverter board, bad caps with leaking/bulging top, bad solder joints.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

TV wont turn on at all. I have read alot of forum posts about the capacitors. I took off back of TV and nothing appears to be out of order with capacitors or anything in power supply. I am not gettting...

I had the same problem. The power supply had a bad capacitor on the 5.3V output. The value of the cap is 2200uF / 10V. The top of the cap was swelled. With the cap changed the TV now turns on again. I hope this helps.

Acer AL1715 power issues

I have an ACER AL 1706 monitor that would not power up completely. After pushing the power button, only the yellow light would stay on indication a power up fault. After careful inspection of the power boards caps, there was visible swelling of the 47mF and 22mF radial caps on the top part of the caps where the tiny cannisters 4 edges are folded down flat. I replaced these caps( 6 on my board) because there is reaaly no way to actually test them and bought new ones from Radio Shack. Now my Acer monitor came back to life with no other problems. I recommened using replacement caps with same microfarad values, but if the voltage rating is not exact, it is o.k. to get the next higher voltage rated caps available and should work fine.

D52W20 RCA

There is a common problem with these with a bad solder connection on the underside of the sweep board. If you can undo all the leads and turn it over you should see it. When you have the board out check for vented capacitors near the front of the board. If you find one change the other caps around it ( four all together ).
