Should have mentioned: this is a "vintage", solid-state unit, made in the '70's. I would like to get it going as my interest is in that era. Even a schematic would help. At present, I'm manually tracing the circuitry.

    Cheers

I had the same problem twice and each time it was failed transistor in the powerstage. It is possible that the cooling is not efficient enough when playing at high sound levels! Good luck, Radio amateur ON4CLY

AMD 780G Chipset + DDR21066 Kit. Are they a match made in heaven?

You can populate half of your DIMM slots with DDR2 1066 RAM modules with this board. There is a limitation of the AMD AM2+ systems that puts a single-channel limit on the memory (hence the empty slots when using 1066).

AUDIO AMPLIFIER'S ONE CHANNEL DEAD

Hi there.
Check for shorted speaker wires on left channel. If not, disconnect speaker wires and check to see if headphone jack works. If left works, you may have a blown speaker. If left still doesn't work, left power amp blown.
Thanks

Sony TA-N9000ES Flash light when turn on.

an amp of this size generates alot of heat internally when in use as these use mosfet ICs and can get very hot.
your problem is most definately dry solder joints and possibly quite a few at that.
i've repaired quite a few sony surround receivers with similar problems and have all been down to dry solder joints.

hope this helps.

First of all check for loose connections. Also see if the left front audio output is working or not.
