Hi. I bought w880i 2 months ago from a local store in Bangor of Wales. I wanted a sim free phone. The guys from the store gave me a fairly new unlocked w880i(the phone was prcviously formatted in vodafone's software). After 2 days of the purchase i realised that it didn't show me who called me. I gave the phone back in the store they ve told that they ll try to update the software and if the problem persisted then they would send it back to sony ericsson. After the update my phone was ok for a week but after that another problem started when i press the green button(yes) it tries to establish a connection to the internet and when i press the red button(no) another menu appears instead of turning off the call. They ve sent it back to sony. After 15 days i took the phone back but it was locked in vodafone again they unlocked it for me but i have again the same problem what do you advise me to do?(i think that i have the right to ask for a new one)plz help
The green and red buttons on the phone aren't used for making phone calls and ending phone calls. On all W880i's that were manufactured for vodafone usage the buttons are wrong and confusing. Me and my friend both have the same phone. He's on orange and I'm on T-Mobile but the phone has been unlocked it was a vodafone phone. Our buttons are different. His are clear in telling you what there for. Mine isn't. The green one is used to connect to something which i haven't figured out yet either e-mail or internet and the red button is to access your short cut menu. Its alot clearer on other W880i's than it is on ours. Its not a mistake it's just the way they're made. Hope this helps.

Hi, i think your step not correct when entering HTC Thunderbolt unlock code. You must use your old sim card to unlock your phone, don't use new sim card before that phones completely unlocked. That's why your sim card not recognized. If this method not working maybe you get wrong HTC unlock code, since it's little rare for me. Usually if you bought unlock code reputable online store, they usually send unlock code with complete instruction how to insert that unlock code in your phones. The bottom line try my method and if not working get new code. Thanks.
NB: don't enter your wrong code to many times in your phones, it will caused your HTC to hard locked state and you can't use that phone even you put your old sim card.
mine did the same exact thing. my first
impression (that i only had for 3 1/2 months) decided to completely
freeze the touchscreen, when i had absolutely no water damage and had
never dropped it. i tried EVERYTHING took out the battery and the sim
for an entire day, turned it on and off, and nothing worked. One thing
i know, try your best not to drop this phone because my friend also had
to get a new one because she dropped it several times, and they are
VERY sensitive, and dropping it throws off the calibration, as does
getting liquid on the screen. I went to a local at&t store and they
said I would be eligible for a new phone because I had not caused the
phone to stop working, but they could not give me one at the local
store. i went to a DSC (device service center) for at&t, and the
guy took one look at my phone, tried to play around with it, and within
a couple minutes said I would be receiving a new phone that day. I
received a new phone, and even got my numbers and my sim transferred
for me. if your phone continues to freeze up, definitely bring it in.
hope this helps :)
This seems to be a recurring problem that I have discovered was a problem with both the original iPhone as well as the iPhone 3g. I just had this happen to me 3 days into owning the phone and the "solution" set forth to me by the apple tech at AT&T was to go into settings and place the phone on airplane mode for a couple minutes and switch it back. This surprisingly worked for me albeit for a matter of minutes. I was then instructed to do a Network reset also through settings under the "Reset" category at the bottom. Although it didn't immediately resolve the problem, after I manually entered my friend's number each time I texted for about 4 texts I have been able to text uninterrupted so far. Not sure this is a permanent fix yet but it's worth a shot for you guys as well.
I don't really get the question right but, what i think your complain is, is that the green/dial key is not working properly. If that is the case, i want to believe that it is a problem from the board that is, the phone pane. All you need to do is to get a phone engineer around you to fix it up for you. The engineer will either help you change the panel for another good one. In a case were there is no compatible panel found, i suggest you get a new phone.
hte thing is...ur phone is handset bundled offer phone..so til the validity ends on ur new sim card..the phone is designed to detect only new sim..so ucant change til validity ends...or u may approach any private local mobile repair shop..i wont cost u much..
