Hey Jay-man11,

Try doing a powercycle on the modem and router. Pull the power on the modem, and also the wireless router. Also make sure the Wii is off. Then, plug the power back into the modem, and then the router. Turn the Wii back on, and see what that does for you.

Cant connect to the internrt via talktalk modem

Hello,

This could easily be an issue with either your TalkTalk internet connection or your Wii. I did experience issues connecting my Nintendo Wii console at first too, but after getting a new router, it works just fine.

The Nintendo Wii console has never been a very good internet-enabled console anyway, and alot of wireless settings will not be compatible with it.

Make sure that your TalkTalk router is using WEP or WPA-PSK security. You can also try changing the Wireless Channel and MTU Size. make sure the MTU size is set at 1450, the channel can be anything, but only a few should work. You can access these settings easily by just going to Internet Explorer and typing in:
  1. 192.168.1.1 for D-Link and Huawei
  2. 192.168.0.1 for Netgear
  3. 192.168.1.254 for Thompson Speedtouch
If TalkTalk did supply your router, then it should be one of the models mentioned above.

If you have any laptops or phones that use the wireless and it works fine, then it may just be the Wii console. TalkTalk will not support the Wii or any video game console so there's no point in calling them for support.
I work for TalkTalk as a senior technician, so I hope this information helps.
Take Care.

I have been having problems with my wii and wi-fi. I've used wi-fi on the wii before and for the past few weeks it has not been working on the wii. i went to the internet sttings and did a connection...

Hi there, this is a common problem with the wii it appears. The error code means that there is a problem with the security key of your wifi. Not exactly sure why this is happening a lot, but all you have to do is go through the setup again and enter the wep/wpa key exactly as it is on the back of your router. You should be good to go then. It may take a couple of go's but it should work provided you have entered the key properly. Hope this helps

Wii console not working correctly

When you connect to the internet wirelessly and Wii Connect24 your Wii will stay connected and recieve messages, updates, etc. That is why the disk area stays blue and the amber light stays on. Sometimes this will create a power failure. Just unplug your Wii from the wall and let it rest for a few minutes and plug it back in. The problem should be solved.
