Hi... my psp"s lens is hooped! I bought a new lens and umd player part, but aperently you have to remove the Anti- static point!! I dont know where it is and i dont know how to remove it! PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!!! and please, if you can, show me a pic where it is!!! THANKS SOOOOO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!
The solder point is on the ribbon that goes into the motherboard - just get a solder iron with a fine tip and a solder sucker - dab it on the blod and remove that sucker.

You should check to see if another UMD will work first. Also try them in another PSP. If your sure your PSP is not reading Discs, then and only then, Clean the Laser lens carefully. Using a strong flashlight and magnifying glass, look into the UMD drive with the UMD door open and look for debris like hair or lint, and also dirt and dust. A black switch pokes up on the left inside the UMD drive. Its a little black stick. When you press down on this Black stick, your UMD disc motor should spin for second or two. The UMD laser lens should light up when your press this switch. If any of this does not happen, you need to replace the UMD drive. If you need someone to do this which if you have never done it, you need some knowledge big time.
I can do this for you if you're in the USA for $55 including a New UMD drive, REturn Shipping, and 90 day warranty. Contact Repairtech@playstationclinic.com
