-- it's not you or (just) your phone .. when it comes to Bluetooth compatibility .. they cannot recognize any device and cannot be used to receive or send any files .. overall, the BT on the iPhone seems to carry little functionality outside use of accessories like the Apple Bluetooth headset. -- Apple’s Bluetooth File Exchange for Mac OS X cannot send files to the iPhone stating “Device does not have the necessary services.-- iSync for Mac OS X cannot be used to synchronize with the iPhone via Bluetooth, delivering the message “iSync can not connect to this device.

  • Anonymous Dec 10, 2008

BT on iPhone keeps searching for devices, not finding computers or other phones. Seems not to be working at all. Bluetooth on iPhone has problems connecting to anything. Didn't try with other Apple devices.

I cannot transfer any of my phone numbers stored on my iPhone 3G to the incar telephone (Mercedes S class 2003) via ViseeO MB1000 and bluetooth.

My iphone will not "discover" my bluetooth speakerphone Jabra sp5050
It is supposed to be compatible and many people have posted that theirs works just fine
I don't know how to set it manually, but the automatic discovery doesn't work even when the two of them are side by side.

  • msnagdee Nov 07, 2012

The Iphone sucks. Dont waste your time trying to pair another make of phone as it just doesn't work. The least the manaufacurer could have said that its' not compatible with other devices, but instead they advertise new level bluetooth technology n.m. ver40edr , BTW its maybe to prolong battery life as Apple knows their batteries dont hold charge for more than 3 hours.

This is not strictly true - my iPhone connects wonderfully to my Plantronics Voyager 520 headset. It will not connect to other phones, headphones, etc. via bluetooth. It is intentionally crippled and will only connect to a headset via bluetooth.

My guess is that Apple sells songs and doesn't want you trading them around to your friends via bluetooth. Whatever the reason, it's quite annoying.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to your iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth. Stay on this screen until you finishthe steps to pair your accessory.
  2. Place your all data in discovery mode and wait for it to appear on your iOS device. If you don not see it or aren't sure how to make it discoverable, check the instructions that came with your data or contact the manufacturer.
  3. To pair, tap your data name when it appears onscreen. You might require to enter the PIN or passkey. If you aren't sure what your PIN or passkey is, check the documentation for your data.

You can only use iPhone bluetooth to connect to a headphone but not for any thing else. You can't transfer pictures and files from or to the iPhone using bluetooth. this is very stupid, the interface is there, yet you can't use it properly, i think i am selling my iPhone.

SOURCE: bluetooth problems iphone

bluetooth on iphone is crippled somewhat.. you cannot for example connect to another phone or a computer like you can with other bluetooth enabled phones.. The bluetooth on iphone can only be used to connect to headset/sat-nav hands free kits etc at the moment.. maybe in a future upgrade they will relax this.

The iPhone unfortunately does not pair with just any device, it would be best to check compatibility before purchasing a new peripheral for your iPhone.

IPhone bluetooth disease!!!

Bluetooth on the iphone only recognises other iphones or bluetooth devices such as the handsfree in your car. It will not find other mobile phones with bluetooth. Another scam for apple to get everyone to buy their fones I assume.

Bluetooth problems

Hi tapper24,

unfortunatly the iphone can only provide mono audio for bluetooth headsets. This is currently the limitation of the iphones bluetooth capabilities.

I hope i helped you with an answer. Sorry i couldn't do more to help, but there is no current way around these hardware restrictions.

Nathan.

Apple ifone bluetooth

you have to make sure that bluetooth is turned on.

go to your home screen, touch settings, then general, then bluetooth, make sure the bluetooth switch is set to on.

Then follow your directions for the your headset for pairing, usually it involves holding the power button down for so many seconds, then it will enter a "pairing" mode where the headset is able to be seen by phones.

Once that happens it should pop up on the bluetooth page of the iPhone and it will ask for the devices password. Most devices the default password is 1111.

Hope this helps and enjoy your Iphone, I know I do ;)
