I've connected a powered sub (bazooka BTA10250D) to my factory system (09 altima coupe 2.5s). I want to be able to control bass on the component speakers and the subwoofer separately. There is no sub out...

We used to use what we call bass blocker capacitors on the component speakers to block the bass coming from the head unit and to allow the bass to only come from the subs...there is several values of these capacitors that you can use(different values correlate to different frequencies). These type of capacitors are available at Radio Shack. You will need to request a NON-POLARIZED Electrolytic capacitor at a voltage rating of not less than 25 Volts...As for the value of the microfarad may need to experiment with different microfarad values to get the sound you desire...standard microfarad values are 1uF, 2.2uF, 3.3uF, 4.7uF, 10uF, 22 uF, 33uF, 47uF.
You probably won't need to go any higher on the value than those my experience, I have found the 4.7uF and 10uF to be good for most install need to put one inline with the positive lead to each component speaker.

Hello the bazooka power wont come on

So it is a powered tube, yes? Can't remember, does the Bazooka have a fuse on it? If it is powered, you blew the board.

MTX 12'' sub noise

Sounds like your sub is overextending itself, and possibly losing contact at the voice coil. Overextending will make a weird rattling sound, losing contact at the voice coil will make a popping sound.

I want bass that can pound

What kind of speakers are they? Liquid cooled speakers? I am assuming you are working with the bazooka speakers? Honest sugguestion: get different speakers. Bazooka is not that good of a brand. looking at bazooks's webiste the magnet size is only 30 ounces! The only good thing I have seen that have come out of bazooka was way back in the day their "P. Miller" series (a.k.a. Master P) And I never tested the subs, only the amp. What kind of car are you putting them in?

Next, a 4 channel amp is usually designated for the midrange/tweeter speakers. If you want good hard bass, only a mono or duel channel amp will put out the ohms that you need. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you get 20 dollar speakers and a 50 dollar amp, do NOT expect to hang with the big boys, even if the speaker is a 30 inch and the amp claims to be a 10,000 watt. Stay away from sony, stay away from bazooka, stay away from unknown brands.

My ideal set up would be Alpine type R or type X for subs, a Fosgate or memphis amp, and mb quart mid/tweeters. All are readily available, so competition keeps the prices affordable. Look at magnet weight when choosing subs.

I have a 2000 Z3 and there is a thump that comes from the speaker

Check to see if at the amp there is a strand of wire crossing over. i had a friend onetime who had the same problem and they just didn't twist the wire all the way before connecting it.

Do all p1's make a weird noise from the rim

this sounds like there is a weak ground that is making the noise. check that and make sure that is not the problem. i have come across this alot.

Bass speaker start up noise

Hello anne845,

It sounds like the installer wired the amp remote turn-on terminal to an "accessory" lead in your vehicle. Many stock radios do not have a dedicated amp turn-or lead and the alternative is to connect the amp to a switched power source (ignition or accessory). This means the amp turns on whenever you turn on the vehicle ignition, often resulting in a thumping from the subs. It is a perfectly satisfactory alternative, and will not damage either the amp or the sub. But it's irritating.

If the thumping is objectionable, have your installer wire a SPST (Single Pole, Single Throw) toggle switch inline with the turn-on wire. The switch should be mounted so it is accessible by the driver, and whenever you turn on the radio, turn on the toggle switch.

Hope this helps.
