Re: cartridge removal without power to unit

Yes but you will need to remove the cover and then if you can't get to the lever you will need to unscrew the board and rotate the motor (it's the one with the worm gear) chances are that there will be one cd in the mechanism which will make it more difficult as you will have to wind the other motor to eject the cd tray back into the magazine before you can eject the magazine

How do I remove the CD magazine from a kenwood kdc-c462 which is out of car & has no power?

I had the same unit, with the same issue. Unfortunately, There is no way to eject the magazine without power to the unit. I took the unit to a stereo shop where they plugged it into a control unit (powered off), powered up the system and ejected the magazine for me.

HI, Is there anyway to get my CDs out of my Sony CDX-52 (not listed in dropdown below) once it has been disconnected from power. My 10 disc cartrage is stuck and won't release from the unit. Thanks. Bart

The safest way to get the cartridge out is to pop the top on the unit. Once this is done, chances are good that you will find a cd that's jammed between the player and the cartridge. It tried to put the disc into the wrong slot.

Gently push the cd onto the player, then plug it back in, it should reset as normal then allow you to eject the cartridge. If you still have an issue post a comment and I can help you some more. Hope this helps

Blaupunkt CD Changer CDC-A08 - Cartridge eject problem

I am waiting for a reply from the Authorised Blaupunkt Service Agent for a solution to this problem &
shall let you know when it is solved. As per my telcon with him it is an alignment problem of the
Cartridge carrier, but he will have to look at the Unit later, when he is free.

I just fixed mine and the problem was one of the cartridge trays that holds cd's had come out and was sitting outside the cartridge and over the top of the assembly that "collects" the disc to play.

If you can easily remove the entire unit from it's mounting brackets, then I have a solution. It might sound tricky, but it's actually pretty easy.

Once you've removed the entire unit, place it on a table to work on. Remove the front plate (this is the part that has the hinged door on it to protect the cartridge and inside mechanisms) by carefully sliding a thin flat screw driver along the plastic edge where it connects to the metal box. There are several tabs that just have a friction fit holding it in place. Be gentle as to not break the top plate.

Once the front plate is removed, you'll find two very small black screws on each side of the metal box/case containing the cd player. (The top half of the case.) Once you've removed the four small screws, you can lift off the top of the metal case and expose the cartride and cd player. At this point, you'll probably see that 1 or 2 of the cartride trays has come out of the cartride and are sitting over the top of the cd player. Gently push the trays back inside the cartridge.

Once the trays are back inside, you can take the entire back over to the power card, plug it in and see if when you hit the eject button if the cartridge pops out. If it does, you're almost done.

Go ahead and slide the top half of the metal box/case onto the unit. Replace the 4 small black screws on the sides. Replace the front plate carefully. Remount the unit in it's original location. Plug it in and you're done.
