    Green picture

My picture has recently been getting more and more green. I thought that the kids messed with the color but I can't adjust it out. Could the lamp be causing the problem? The manual says when the lamp goes bad the color may go out of wack first.

My picture keeps getting more and more green - I have the color adjusted completey to the red side of the spectrum - the color is still green and white things (ice on hockey games) is yellow and yellow streaks follow the players. Just called Sony at (866) 850-8674 and it turns out there is a class action lawsuit.
Q1. What is the Lawsuit about?
A1. The Complaint in the Lawsuit asserts that the Televisions contain a characteristic, inherent, and latent defect in a component known as the optical block, that causes green blobs, yellow stains, green haze, yellow lines, and other discolorations to be displayed on the screens, and that Sony’s attempts to fix the alleged defect have resulted in, among other things, a softer and washed out picture, lack of color uniformity, poorer rendition of dark colors, "blotchy" rendition of the color black, problems with "grayscale," and convergence problems. Sony denies any wrongdoing in connection with the claims in the Lawsuit and the Court has not made any ruling on the validity of those claims.

Q2. What Sony SXRD Televisions are covered by the Settlement?
A2. The following models are covered by the Settlement:

    • KDS-R50XBR1
    • KDS-R60XBR1

You might want to let others know to call this number for assistance.

SOURCE: Green spot on picture

Greenish yellow spot only means one thing. You have a defective lite engine. The only fix is to replace the engine. This part is very
expensive. Average cost $835.00 Part number A-1606-008-A

Picture is greenish hue and cannot be changed from menu bar

The greenish hue cannot be adjusted from the menu. One has to do it from inside.First confirm by turning the color settings to zero using the remote. You should get a clean black and white image with no traces of any color ( inc: green ). If your TV is greenish , the green drive on the base of the picture tube has to be trimmed.
All you need is a screwdriver. There are dangerous voltages inside a TV, some as high as 27,000 volts !!!. Where the color adjustment has to be done there are voltages as high as 110 volts and 8000 volts. If you still want to make the adjustments yourself revert back for instructions

Recently the picture has become blurry, it seems like the blue and yellow are seperating on the top and bottom of the picture convergence doesn't fix the problem

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

We also have a greenish tint. We put a new bulb in because the box that said bulb needed replacing came up. We reset the tv but its still green. we have tried to adjust colors, temperature adjustment and...

Your "light engine has possibly gone down on you, did you replace just the bulb it's self or the complete bulb assembly? If you pulled out light assembly and replace just the bulb then repalce light assembly, if you repalced the whole light socket assembly and still have greenish color the you have a "light engine problem". Seek repair tech.
