I turn on my machine & the two green "warm up" lights flash slowly like normal when the machine is warming up. However, now the water (red) light is flashing also, even though there is a full tank. Also, the machine doesn't warm up and provide a solid light. It simply keeps flashing for over 15 min (after which I turned it off). Can I reset? Turning off/on doesn't work (even after over 1 hour of having it off same problem comes up when I turn on). Earlier, it tried to push through espresso without water (the tank wasn't on properly) and now it won't work even though there is now water.
You can't manually reset. The machine will have to do it. I had the same problem, two green flashing lights with one red (water) all 3 would just keep flashing and not turn solid. No coffee can be made or hot water. I could not pump prime. The problem was the steam wand was blocked with old milk residue. It needs unblocking or you will never pump prime. I could not unscrew the steam wand...so I let it sink in a glass full of hot water for a few minutes and then turned the water knob counter clockwise to push out the softened residue. After that, everything was good. When water started flowing out of the steam wand, the red light turned off and the green lights turned solid. The obvious answer to why you can't pump prime is there is a blockage somewhere and best to start with the steam wand. --Mabada
Blinking light means ventilate.. Try to run water through the steam wand.
If you can also try descaling the machine.
You need to pump the water until the water light goes away. If the water light goes away, then the green lights still soon become fixed. Turn the water knob counterclockwise. Turn it very slowly because water only gets pumped when the knob is at a certain fine point. If you turn it too fast, you will only hear the motor sound for a split second but it won't go off.
I have the identical problem. It seemed to be triggered by reinserting the brew unit (after cleaning but forgetting to have the brew unit in the "start" position) and starting a cycle which initially jammed the brew unit. I removed the brew unit and cycled power and ended up in the above state/symptom. I've primed the pump and it didn't clear this state. Top warming plate heats up but the boiler doesn't. Water from steam wand stays cold.
Open the hot water valve to prime the pump, there might be an air lock int the water line.

Comment on oily beans - try not to use them. If you are looking for a stronger flavor coffee, an an extra shot to your drink. Oily beans cake inside the grinder, brew group + components and strains them potentiallu causing malfunctions.
Also dark beans are usually over roasted which makes the makes real coffee flavor lose. Espresso coffee beans should have very little to no oil and be unifrom in color.
Another approach if you are looking for stronger coffee flavor. use less water instead of more coffee. Two shots of 2 oz. espresso (made with 7 grams of coffee) are more flavorful & sweeter than one shot of 4-oz. espresso made with 14 grams of coffee.
