Can't get cable remote to operate GE 19TVR62

Have a cable Universal Remote Mod.# UR4U-MDVR-CHD2. Remote manual does NOT list any codes for ANY GE TV/VCR. Have tried to program remote in AUTO, but no go that way either. Need to access TV/VCR menu to adjust Contrast, Color, Tint, etc. Where can I find a list of Codes?

Re: Can't get cable remote to operate GE 19TVR62

I found these remotes control VCR's only when programmed into the DVD button. It even says on page one of the manual that the DVD button is for DVD's, TV/VCR's, VCR's, etc. I got code 607 to control my GE VCR (using the DVD button). If that doesn't work, try 572 647 563 609 644 645 or 531.

Daewood was a great product. However, you might need to call and find out what generic is compatible. Be aware that sometimes the so calked generics do not properly work with universal. Some remotes which are universal tend to work with more known brands. They will tell you in the manual that yours works with a certain model. Don't trust that. One company said there is just enough difference that you will have problems. At best you will not get the same kind of performance as if your products were all 100 percent compatible. Please call before you damage the remote and end up out of a lot of money and still not have a properly working set up. Some universal set ups just DO NOT work with some brands. Save yourself some strife. Go into Radio Shack or Best Buy. Let the sales people - ones who know - tell you what the rate of compatibility is with your brand of universal remote and YOUR products. Sometimes you have to go with a different universal remote. Some care just not as good as others. The more you stick with known brands the better off you will fair.

Polaroid TV DVD Combo Remote Codes

Can't find a code to program your universal remote to control your Polaroid HDTV / DVD combo? Can't find a listing for Polaroid DVD in your remote control code list?

Many manufacturers recycle remote control codes, so often the best solution is to use the code search function of your universal remote.

Here are some remote control codes that have worked to control Polaroid HDTVs:

  1. My 19" w/DVD uses the following Mitsubishi code: 10178
  2. Dish Network remotes: 627, 659, or 688
  3. DirecTV RC64 remote control revealed a code of 10835. This means that 10835, 0835, 835 or some variant many work with many programmable remote controls. On my DirecTV DVR system, this was indicated as a Moxell and/or Motorola TV code.
  4. Use the mitsubshi tv codes they worked for me.
  5. Try Element codes if they are listed in your remote code list.

I hope that helps.

I purchased a GE Universal remote and I do not know the code to set up for MV20FM4. Please help.

You haven't given the model number of GE remote you have purchased. Yet I hereby give you some universal remote codes for Toshiba TV/VCR combo. Try with these. If you fails to synchronise with; inform me the model number of your GE Universal remote:
Four digit codes for Toshiba TV/VCR combo are: 0260 0358
Three digit codes for Toshiba are: 013/ 049/ 089/ 105/ 109/ 117/ 118/ 120/ 159/ 178
Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.
OK. Thanks for using Fixya.

Need Toshiba remote access code for this product so I can use a universal remote to operate the VCR and DVD

remote codes are set by the manufacurer of the remote not the tv. if there are any others not listed in instructions for remote, the manufacturer of remote would have them. most combo unit are not able to be programmed into universal remotes due to the fact that there are alot of specialized function buttons on original remote. you can obtain a replacement remote thru toshiba

Tv will not go on

On my GE Tv/VCR Combo I had a similar problem. Try holding down the Power button on the remote for at least 7 seconds. This disengages the parental controls. I found this solution on another website after my tv stopped working after my 20 month old played with the remote for a while. This solution was not in manual. I am assuming that he held down the power button for 7 seconds to engage the parental control. Hope this helps!
