Question about Computer Monitors

Monitor every time we disconnect our monitor and then reconnect, it will boot up and begin loading windows xp it goes directly to save power mode. When we overide it to VGA mode we try to adjust resolution settings but this doesn't work.

Boot up using safe mode, then check the display properties for the Energy Monitor Power settings under the Screen Saver tab.

Hi ,My dell screen goes to sleep mode after a long wait of not being used, say an hour, ..............but the pc sleep is not set ? The message comes up to move mouse ,or press any key ,but this does not...

please check your monitor settings may be sleep time is defined there. secondly check your system sleep time again. and also check window power saving mode. may be your system goes to power saving mode.

Monitor going right to sleep mode on start up

Sounds like a bad graphics card. Try using monitor wit another computer and see if the problem still exists. This rules out the display.

Check the following:
Shorted or blown capacitor(check for bulging)
faulty external power adapter(check with another)
Faulty lcd back-light(if other option fail this is it)

I think your monitor is unstable. Is it showing power saving when you boot your PC? Does it show something when the Windows XP splash appears?

When the PC starts the monitor does not come out of the power standby mode

Hi The problem is to do with a 680uf capacitor that tends to bulge and fails.this stops the monitor staying on when trigerd to do so,change this and happy day.
