actually the sound comes under the key board. There are these three small lights at the left end of the keyboard, One of them for power and the other for battery and the third one i dont know, the third light flickers and it is associated with the very low insect like sound.......

I have the same exact problem with a HP Compaq NX9030. When I remove the battery and still keep the power connected the sound disappears.

I also noticed that an insect like noise starts coming from inside my notebook at regular intervals. This is quite irritating especially if you connect the notebook to some external speakers.

Does it happen when you plug in the AC adapter or in any way it's turned on?
Where is the sound coming from? LCD? DVD Drive? Battery?
Please check back with us when you have more info..

Hp pavillion dv2500 laptop- LEDs glow, fan noise may be heard briefly, display remains black, and computer fails to startup or boot

This sounds like the possibly infamous Nvidia GPU defect. It is caused by heat, over time the solder fractures and separates from the board. Typically the solution is either repair it (temporary fix) or get a new board and hope for the best.

Hi, I have hp pavilion dv2500 laptop. I have display problem.pls help how to rectify it. If i connect exteranl CRT monitor Display is coming . Pls tell me how to disassemble the laptop.

You might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

In this service manual, you will find an illustration of how to disassemble the laptop & replace either the LCD cable or screen inverter board:

Hp dv2500 wont turn on

does the laptop plug in tightly to the power socket

if not the pavilion part to get the system power needs replacement

contact a local technician and state the power adapter plug-in on the motherboard needs replaced

these commonly go bad on pavilions

it should cost you less than 100usd to repair

or rma the laptop if you have warranty coverage left on the hp dv2500

good luck

Insect buzzing noise.

If you feel the that the HDD or the fan is not making the insect buzzing noise then you maybe right it is the RAM... Open the ram slot and check how many RAMS are in there if there are two then remove the top RAM and keep it aside and start the system to check if the other RAM is making the noise...If there is no sound then check the same RAM which is in the system in the other slot and check if you are getting the noise...Then remove the RAM and then place in the RAM that was kept outside to check if the same happens...If the same happens at a particular slot then the slot is the problem and not the RAM....If one RAM is making a problem then you need to contact HP for the RAM....Please contact me if you need any guidance further down from here

Clacking noise hard drive on HP Pavilion dv2700 Laptop

Laptop hard drives can be a bit louder than the new desktops and because you're closer may be more noticable. The sound from that youtube is about normal - this video is the sound of the heads crashing - mechanical drive failure.
Just to be safe - BACKUP your important data and if you don't have the install disks, make a set.
