Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

1 Answer

EMachine desktop I have a brand new eMachinew3611 and bought an Encore wireless adapter and it won't work with Linksys. The error is "your computer radio is not turned on" and the fix is to push the Fn and F2 buttons. My eMachine keyboard does not have a "Fn" nor do any of my computers. What's wrong?

Re: eMachine desktop

If I had to guess Fn would be a misprint for one or F1 since that is the "HELP" button in most programs. Probally not very helpfull just throwing it out there.

Hi did the usb adaptor come with software or not also have you tried letting you computer scan for hardware devices.
As its usb it should be plug and play
Is the adaptor for sending data from things like phone etc via bluetooth they are usuall plug and play and reqiure no setup try reinstalling software and if still dont work try scanning for hardware devices and then let it search for the software for you.
Let me know how you get on ok

Trying to install a linksys wireless B ethernet card. When I installed the wireless network adapter it tells me I need to download a internet controller. Where can I find the internet controller download...

It's not a internet controller, it's the driver.
It's not the driver for an emachine w3653 (which is the pc) it's the driver of the Linksys wireless card. Go here
go to the page of your card and from there get the Vista driver.

other computers are working fine in your modem?in that case you need to check if your pc can detect the modem,or you can check if the ethernet driver (for LAN connection) and/or wireless driver (for wifi) are installed can check that in the device manager if the drivers are properly installed
if Windows 7 - click start ; on the start search area, type device and the look for device manager
look for network adapters and you will see there you lan and/or wireless adapter

Usb 2.0 ports not working on my emachines T3504

You may need to uninstall your current usb's and let Windows redetect them.

click on START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM. Click on tab HARDWARE, click on DEVICE MANAGER. Scroll down to UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLER. Delete everything there. Click on ACTION, SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES. It should redetect and you should be good.
