Question about NEC 1760NX-1 (White) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Open Question

NEC 1760VM Monitor

I have a NEC monitor which has just started displaying black & white lines - seems like it looses sync. It will then return to normal operation after about 3-4 mins. It only appears to happen when the monitor is cold....

Is there anything I can do?

Sounds like its stuck in test mode. Make sure that none of the buttons are stuck in place and does it make any noise while its turned on?

SOURCE: NEC Plasma Sync 42MP3 Problem

Hi, This model has some design flaws and yes NEC admitted to them a year ago. The problem with your monitor (hopefully) is a bad power supply. Have a Tech with a voltage tool check the boards as well as the connections Reason, this monitor generates a lot of heat ( no cooling fans) primarily at the power supply and sits there. So the wires tend to go weak by the heat build up. What the problem is the power is not going to the correct board in the right voltage. hope this helps out!!!

Hello there !
First things Frist:
1) Test the switching on keyboard for external monitor and see if work, or you disable the laptop monitor.
2) install the driver for select external monitor. depending the video card, you may have 2 display panels, to select, on that driver. NVIDIA or RADEON

SOURCE: my operating system is XP. the driver for this

To the best of my knowledge this is a pnp device witch stands for plug and play you should not have to download any drivers but you should only have to go in to your properties and adjust the settings
Right click on the desktop and go to properties then in the next window click on settings adjust them to this
Maximum Resolution & Refresh Rate

  • 1440 x 900 @ 75Hz AND in 32bit color
that should salvo your problem :)

In a move my NEC MultiSync 5FG monitor got disconnected from its BNC cable (5 BNC). Now I don't know which leads connects to which ports. Can anyone help?

The cable should be labeled with R (RED video signal), G (GREEN video signal), B (BLUE video signal), V (Vertical Sync signal), and H (Horizontal Sync signal), so you just have to match the plug to the sockets.
I hope it is clear explanations.

It won't turn on -

hi there, it sounds like your monitor isn't receiving power, check the power cable in your monitor is connected and not partially unplugged. Second, if that doesn't work, try looking at your plug and make sure that is plugged in. If that doesn't work, you may have to buy a new monitor or give it to a friend that can repair it.

NEC AccuSync 120 Frequency setting

This is the maximum resolution for this monitor:
1600 x 1200 / 76 Hz

Even if you lower the resolution to the monitor, as I can see that you want to do, the maximum refresh rate is still going to be 76 Hz. If you were able to force the monitor to scan a greater field rate and its protection circuits do not shut it down, the monitor will be damaged.

Your display card is most likely limited also, unless you went out and bought a very high end card.

When using a different resolution that what the specs on the monitor indicates as its native mode, this will reduce the quality of the results displayed.

Nec 700 crt

Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.
