Question about Bunn Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
I have a bunn commercial/ home stainless steel coffee maker model LX00001005 lx 04400-0001 which quit working. The switch appeared to be worn out so I replaced it but while the warmer burner started to work again the heating element did not, i.e. the water would not get hot. Any ideas.
It sound like you are either missing the sprayhead or the temperature isn't hot enough. Check first to see if the sprayhead is there. It fits under the brew basket and looks like a little shower head - it's round and has usually five or six little holes in it. If it is missing your coffee will be weak due to the water not being spread across all of the grounds evenly.
The other thing to check is the temperature. Depending upon where you live the water should be between 185F - 200F. If the water is below that temperature the coffee may look like tea.

SOURCE: the coffee is so hot it boils
Hello. If this is a 5 burner unit, only one is supposed to get really hot, the top right one, is for tea/water. Otherwise no other burners should get "red hot", ever. Either the controls have a problem, which is unlikely for them to all suddenly go bad, or something has shorted out, causing the current to find a path through ground or neutral. I would have a servicer check the unit. One can be found in the phone book under restaurant repair companies, or you can go to www.bunnomatic.com, and look up a local authorized servicer close to you.
Hope that helped, and thank you.

The unit may simply need to be decalcified. You may need to use a toothpick to remove blockages in the spray head, and there may be a flexible wire to assist in removing blockages behind the spray head leading to the tank (refer to owner's guide). If these measures fail it may be a problem with the thermostat/electrical system. For support go to:
