I too have a Sunbeam fireplace insert with mantle and have no heat only lights and this happened just after owning 1 year.

  • roshelly Jul 16, 2008

My Sunbeam elctric fireplace also quit heating...the fan still blows and the lights work but no heat. It died after the warranty was up. I cannot find where I put the manual and can't find anyone to look at it.

Anyone have the Sunbeam phone # ??

  • Anonymous Sep 13, 2008

    Yup, me too.

  • roshelly Sep 23, 2008

I am going back to where I bought it when I see it in a flyer this fall and will open the box and get a manual from Sunbeam where I hope to get a phone # of somewhere to call to have it fixed, otherwise it will be a useless piece of furniture except for Christmas Eve.

where do you get a new thermostat?

  • Micheline10 Nov 18, 2008

I have the same problem, first the heat was not working so I replace the thermal fuse, but now the fan is not working. This is after 1 year of use.

I cannot find anywhere selling the sunbeam models this fall, and can find no repair service willing to look at it. They all tell me it wouldn't be worth my $ to have them fix it and to buy a new space heater. We have 2 small noma oscillating heaters in our basement now and stick one in each end of the family room. I guess we will decorate the old mantle with Christmas decorations and call it a display unit now. Good luck, hope someone finds a fix, we were sad to only get 1 year out of the heater.

Most likely sounds like the thermal fuse has gone out. if you take off the top of the fireplace you will find a little metal tube in front of the blower. This is the thermal fuse if it has gone out only your fan will blow and the heating element will not put out heat. You can pick one of the fuses up at radio shack for 3 dollars. the only problem is how to go about repacing it since it was crimped in and you can't use a soldering iron because it will trip it. If I come up with a way to change it I will let you know so far I can't.

To crimp in the thermal fuse on the fireplace, you can take and clip the lead of the old fuse and then crimp down the left over old clip and then bend upward and use a electrical wire splice uninsulated to crimp on to it and then crimp in the fuse. You then can use the 1/4" male tab where the wire is attached and remove and put a female to 2 male 1/4" connector on it and put a 1/4" female on the fuse and put it all together. This will require no heat and it will still be safe.

I had a power surge during a Hurricane and my Fridge, Computer & A/C unit blew out. I just decided to turn on my electric fireplace and nothing came on. I turned on the switch at the bottom and nothing! How do I repair this?

Posted on Nov 20, 2008

The thermostat is burnt up. It is really easy to change it, unscrew the four small screws at the top cover and replace the thermostat

The plug on the fireplace keeps burning out. I had the fireplacefor about 4 yearsa and had to replace the cord as well asthe receptacle or our house would have burnt down, We don't want to change it...

Hi Dave
I suggest you have the fireplace checked out.
Check the power rating of the fireplace, the power rating of the power connection, and the power rating of the fuse your house has for this unit. The fuse should be rated a little higher than the fireplace, and this should trip before the plug starts to heat up. It should not burn out.
There may be a short circuit, or the heating element in the fireplace may be faulty.
Get a professional to do this as you and your families safety is most important.

Getting error code EO - F5. What's the fix???

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
Error code F5-E0 is a door latch failure and is displayed due to malfunction of door latch-switch assembly. First try to check the door latch switch, if fine then recommended repair is replacement of door latch-switch mechanism. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

First, and least expensive thing to do is replace the thermocouple. Probably weak.

HI. the oven temp sensor is malfunctioning. have it inspected for damage. check the wires leading from the control to the sensor for cuts and damage as well. replace the sensor if these issues with heating persist.

After I turn off the top electric burner the red light does not go off.The burner is cold but the light remains. Is it safe to use even if the light does not go off and the burner is cool?

Yes it is safe to use. One of the switches has a malfunction on the pilot portion of the switch. It should be replaced, but it is not dangerous.

Interior oven light won't shut off.

Hi, i would check the pressure switch and its connection as well. either the switch is malfunctioning or the wires and connectors are corroded. simply replacing the wires or switch will fix this issue. the switch is usually located on the rim of the inside of the oven door. it will make contact with the oven door and as the oven door closes, the pressure switch is depressed inwards, thus, opening the circuit and cutting power to the light.

Please rate and god bless:)
