This is straight from Palm Support...
1.Press and hold the UP button on the front panel of your device.

2.While holding the UP button, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus, to gently press the RESET button inside the hole on the back of your device

3.The Palm Computing Platform screen will appear. Release the UP button when you see it.

Thanks, Your the best! I love my old beat up Treo 600. Everytime something goes wrong I panic, buy a new phone, and then find a fix for the Treo. This was a corker
I had exactly the problem listed. Taken the phone apart and put it back with no luck. After this post I took the Treo apart again but removed the Screen Saver and cleand all of the surfaces. Back together and BINGO! I'm in business again. The only problem now is what do I do with the HTC Touch Cruise on the way? Thanks again.

Try running a piece of paper around the edge of the screen. There may be was something stuck in there, pressing the screen slightly and causing it to not respond to the stylus.

SOURCE: Touchscreen does not respond to touch

There's apparently no known software solution to the dead screen problem. However one can bypass the screen setup step by doing a warm reset. See:

How to show images on screen

Step 1 Turn the device off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on again. This process will clear out any software errors that are causing the touchscreen to malfunction. If the touchscreen still doesn't work, remove the device's battery, if possible, wait ten seconds and then put it back in.
Step 2 Remove both the SIM and memory cards from the device, if the device accepts such cards, and then turn the device off and back on again. Sometimes errors in these cards can cause devices to malfunction.
Step 3 Check your device's documentation to see if there is a way to manually recalibrate the screen. This process will either be done through the "Settings" or "Tools" menus, for those devices that have an alternative method of input, or by holding a combination of buttons while you turn the device on, for those devices that only have the touchscreen for input.
Step 4 Upgrade the device's software to the latest version, if possible. Many devices come with software for your computer that will allow you to connect the device and update the software. Often, this process will resolve existing software errors that may be causing the touchscreen to stop responding.
Step 5 Clean the device's contacts and screen using isopropyl alcohol and a small brush. Turn the device off before you clean it.
Step 6 Perform a hard reset as a last resort. This reset will erase everything you have added to the device and return its software and settings to their factory defaults. Even with an unresponsive touchscreen, most devices will have a way to perform this reset either through PC software or by holding a combination of buttons while turning the device on. Consult your device documentation to determine the exact process for performing a hard reset on your device.
Step 7 Contact the manufacturer for your device if the touchscreen is still unresponsive after your troubleshooting attempts. The manufacturer may have additional steps to take that are specific to your device, and if your device is still under warranty you should be able to get a replacement through their customer service division.
Warnings
  • If you have the right tools and are willing to risk voiding your warranty, you can also open the device and scrub down the control board using the small brush and isopropyl alcohol.
  • Many manufacturers offer free telephone support, but some will charge for the service. Check your product documentation before you contact support to know if you will be charged for the service.

Required Items

  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Small brush

Touch keys not working ?

Hello Jiger Jain,
Unfortunately I do not understand what you are referring to when you say "touch keys".
I will make the assumption that you are having technical difficulties with your touchscreen device in general, and in which case I suggest performing a hard reset.
To perform a hard reset, simply press and hold the lock screen/power button until the device powers off.
If a hard reset does not solve your issues I am afraid there is a deeper set problem, including but not limited to: Faulty digitizer, software failure etc.
Thanks,
-Dish guy

My v touch pro touch screen wont work

b> The Touch Pro2, manufactured by HTC, is a smartphone designed to be used with the Verizon wireless phone network. This smartphone combines a cell phone, PDA, MP3 player and wireless Internet access into a small, portable device. If the device begins malfunctioning or freezing, you can perform a soft reset. A soft reset does not delete any of your saved information. It shuts the phone down and reboots the phone to the Verizon Today Welcome Screen.

Pull the stylus upward to remove it from the side of the phone. Push the back cover upward using your thumbs until it pops from the back of the Touch Pro2 phone. The back cover can then be lifted away and removed from the phone. Press the "Reset" button, on the upper, left side of the back panel using the stylus tip. The device will now restart and display the Verizon Today screen. Snap the back cover back onto the back of the phone. Touch Screen is Not Working
As most tablet PCs ,Phones and Mp3 players are full touchscreen devices, you use your touchscreen for everything you need to do on your Tablet PC. If the touchscreen stops working, you can't get much use out of your Tablet. Touchscreen issues are caused by hardware or software problems, but check with your manufacturer before attempting a DIY repair.

Hardware Issues Damages to the surface of your Tablet PC can cause the touchscreen to malfunction or stop working entirely. For example, putting pressure on the screen, such as placing the Tablet PC in a bag with other heavy items, can cause cracking along the screen. Exposing the screen to water, even in small amounts, can cause the electrical system within the touchscreen to malfunction. If the electrical system malfunctions, the touchscreen stops working properly. b> Screen Sensitivity b> Pressing the touchscreen on your Tablet PC sends a signal to the internal motherboard. The motherboard then transmits to other components, such as the hard drive. The accuracy of the touchscreen depends on the screen's sensitivity. Many Tablet PCs include a program for calibrating the touchscreen. This program may fix minor responsive issues. Even a small amount of dirt or debris can effect how the touchscreen responds. Cleaning your touchscreen with an electronics cleaner or a microfiber cloth may help improve sensitivity. b> Software Issues b> A driver is a software program that interacts between hardware devices and an operating system, Your Tablet PC needs the right drivers for your OS to work correctly. Outdated or missing drivers can cause the touchscreen to work improperly, or not respond at all. Visit the manufacturer's website to find the right drivers for your Tablet PC. b> Repair b> While you can perform some minor repairs yourself, such as re-calibrating the touchscreen sensitivity or installing drivers, only perform a hardware repair if you have a good working knowledge of electronics, specifically Tablet PCs. Before attempting to repair your device, contact your manufacturer. If your Tablet PC has a warranty, completing an unauthorized repair may make you ineligible for claiming that warranty. Hope this helps

Touch screen

You may have dust accumulation around the edges of your touchscreen, between the screen and the case. Try using a can of compressed air. Gently press down on the edges of the touchscreen to expose the gap between the screen and the case, and shoot the air in there. This worked for me when my Treo 600 touchscreen stopped responding.
