Is it possible that you accidentally put the wrong colour cartidges in the wrong spots? Otherwise, it should work fine. Also, the printer's default is usually to print in colour, therefore even pages in black and white will usr colour, which uses up coloured ink. Always check the prooerties when printing to switch to b&w:)

Printer not printing as missing ink cartridge - default to black

Hello
Download and install the drivers for it ,the default drivers are for Windows XP if you have Windows Vista then change it on the left column.

Epson sx200 One of the colour inks is empty and no print in black

Hi, this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart from buying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to prevent the coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are not used for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epson recommends printing at least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing in black only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Whenever the printer is turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inks get used over time even though they are not used for printing.

Greyscale Printing

Go into Printers, Properties, Printing Preferences, then Black Ink Only. If you make that the default, it will automatically print black ink with you click on the printer in the toolbar. If you want to print one document in color, click on File, Print, Properties, and set it for color for that one job only. The default of Black Ink should stay the same.

hello, I hav Epson Stylus Dx4050, there is black ink,but the colours finished and it stopped printing, so please if you could tell me if the 4 colours must be there to print or what can I do?

No colour on paper

check for printer settings maybe the default has been changed to grayscale or black and white chage it to color.

Not possible.
Epson uses the black cartridge mostly, but also adds color to the black printing in order to keep the color inks from drying in the print jets on the printhead.
They also make lots of money that way...

All epson injets & all-in-ones use a little bit of color ... no matter what.. (little known fact) ..

But I wouldn't trade my Epson RX for any other inkjet ----

Goto print then search for maintenance tab then from there search for cartridge and click it. youll be ask to chooose from selection either to print pure black or black + color or using only color cartridges

Hi,
Start the Epson printer software, go to print preferences and set the printer to only print in black and white, save the changes and that should be it.

Hi,
Gort007 is more or less correct, Epson do use their colour inks to make the black colour, if you follow my advice in my earlier post then the printer will print in black only.
