Asko W620 washing machine not spinning

My Asko W620 seems to begin the wash cycle. It fills with water and agitates and pumps the water out, but it does not spin. I checked and cleaned the pin trap and this didn't help. I made sure the No Spin option was not selected and I tried to wash at different spin speeds and this didn't help. The machine control knob goes to the S position (call a technician) without spinning at all.

Motor will not spin wash cyliner during wash or spin cycle. I took the belt off last night and the motor worked without the belt; then I replaced the belt and it worked for one load; however, this morning the motor is not spinning again.

I have an ASKO W620 that starts the wash cycle, fills with water but doesn't agitate, it just sits there and after a while the dial moves through all the setting and stops at S and that's it.

I've tried emptying the water out, turning it off and on, checking the fuse and even taking the back of an ensuring that the belt is correctly attached however since it makes no noise at all or any attempt to agitate I suspect it's the motor. how can I confirm this?

    Thanks

Once started, the Asko W620 fills with water, no agitation, it drains, it runs through its cycle very quickly (less than ten minutes), filling and draining a second time, no spinning or agitating. Then the indicator moves to "S".

    I have the same problem.

My 620 does all of these things intermittently. Additionally, it sometimes tries to rev up to full spin while in the middle of a wash cycle with the machine full of water. This makes the drum crash wildly into the outer case and almost unseats the dryer sitting on top. Sometimes works fine. I can find no connection to load size or cycle selection. Electrical issue?

I started a load (2 sheets), went to bed. In the morning, the machine was still going! I drained it and cleaned the trap. Is there a SPIN ONLY option on these things? I really do NOT like this washer - have had more problems with it than any other I've owned, and it's only 8 years old, washing stuff for 2 people.

Sounds like the motor brushes need to be cleaned or replaced. Take the back off the washer, remove the motor and gently scrape the excess carbon or debris off the brushes with a pocket knife. I did this and it ran well for about 50 loads before building back up. I am ordering new brushes now because when I checked the brushes last week they were obviously worn more than 4 weeks ago.

I had a similar problem w/ my w620. I took apart the pump and found a dime had made it past the trap and lodged itself in the drain port of the pump. Mine was pumping out too slow and going right to the "Service" position. Might be worth a check. You can get to the pump by removing the lower front cover. 2 torx screws, and the screw holding the emergency door release.

It sounds like you will need a new motor. You pump seems to work and that leads to the motor because it does not spin or move. Motor should be easy to replace good luck

The washing machinge is not completing the complete cycle

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Drum will not spin

Hi,
I am the new owner of a used Asko Cylinda 10504.
The last owner briefly demonstrated the washer starting a wash cycle and entering the agitation cycle of the wash before stopping and pumping the water out and spinning in a final end cycle. I bought it. I had the machine installed turned it on and cannot get it to go through the wash cycle. After starting at #1 it goes through a perpetual spin cycle of sorts--water and soap soaking the drum and laundry but not enough water to fill up half way or less. It stops at number 4 on the program knob sits on a red dot (next to the #4) and does nothing. I then manually move it to the next cycle and it repeats the spin cycle again until I have advanced the program to the end. No wash cycle no rinse cycle. Nothing. When it advances to the red dot I wait for at least 5 minutes before manually advancing the knob. The instructions say that I should get the water pumped out by turning the program knob to #7 or #9 but in both cases it just spins and does no empty or finish in the end spin cycle of several (9?) minutes. Nothing but banging and spinning. The water seems to get into the drum as well as the detergent but nothing else is happening.
No mater where I start the program it spins and sloshes soapy water, pumping almost nothing out.
Any suggestions short of putting it on the curb or paying a kings ransom to fly a tech out to look at it?

MY GUESS.
It seems that it is repeating the same brief cycle over and over. During the move to my house the electronics re set(??!?!?) and now need to be set to the normal mode after being re connected?
Can you help?
Blessings,
Douglas

Asko 620 not spinning and not agitating

Clean armature and replace brushes. When you remove the brushes the shut a small pin like device maybe protruding from the brush tip. this is a sure clue.
