Our electric hot plate on our smev402 stainless steel cooktop in our caravan, will only work on the highest settings 4,5 and 6, when you go below these settings it ceases to heat also could you please tell us if there is a parts manual available for this cooktop

Most likely it's the switch or element that's bad. Unless you wish to call service, start with the switch since it's probably cheapest of the 2.

Go to the supplier/outlet you purchased it from....they will have one from their demo room.

hi ok first step is to remove the top plate so that you can get at the burners you would need to be able to use a multi meter and check each burner that you are getting power to each one if you dont have power going to the burner then it would be a wire or control problem if you do have power then you have a burner problem hope this helps plz if you are not electronicly inclined call a technician

this unit has a gas coil controling the valve . and wen it gets hot it is failing and cannot keep the gas on . replace the valve coil // mm
