Looks Like oil on clothes

I thought I was going crazy. Large sections of MY clothes only are getting either numerous small dark spots or large sections, saucer size lighter sections of oily looking residue. I have tried every stain remover I know and it barely lightens it.

fabric softener used rarely and not at all in the laundry where this is happening.

What type of fabric softener are you using? Did you try a wash without softener?

My duet sport combo shakes like crazy

Suspect your load of clothes is incorrect. Wash large & small items together. Large bath towels, or bath / toilet mats and trainers are notorious for becoming out of balance. As is a 'too small' load as well.

GE WSXH208FWW washer leaving spots on clothes

If you are getting round dark spots on your clothes after washing, the problem would be cause by a bearing seal leak. What happens is water leaks pass the seal into the bearings, and the grease leaks back into the wash water. To fix it would require the machine to be literally taken completely apart to get to the bearings. Very costly to repair. Sorry.

Not just changing oil, but is there gear oil to change, 1988 Harley 883 XL Sportster

Yes, there is oil in primary and transmission of your Sporty. To drain the oil, look for the drain plug on bottom of rear section of the primary area, back near the large round section of the primary. Drain the oil here and replace the plug. Add the oil at the top primary chain inspection port, large plug with a large "screwdriver" slot or two small bolts in it. Add 32-36 ounces of H-D "primary lubricant for Sportsters".

Washing machine is dispersing oil on the clothing. We have taken it apart and cleaned it and have used the special cleaning solution because we thought it was dirty water being dispersed on the clothes...

Number 1 Cause .... using fabric softner in washer it accumilates around the top of the tub and it gets nasty! it depends on what type of machine you have if it is even possible to leak oil into the wash basket

Spots on white clothes

This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some degreaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.

Black, tar-like spots on some clothes after wash

Hi
Its probably coming from the outer drum of your machine. That's what holds the water. Your inner drum, what you see, is full of holes and allows the water to pass through in the drum and wash the clothes. that outer drum gets crud in it which then passes through the holes onto your clothes. the easiest way to get rid of it is to get a product called "affresh" from W mart or the big Hardware chains and follow the directions. Good Luck

Oil Like Stains on dark cotton Clothes - Whirlpool duet

Problem Solved !!!
Ok, I had to stop and tell everyone about my latest experience. When we moved here we bought the nice Whirlpool front load washer and dryer set. I Love them....still don't understand how my clothes get clean with so little water, but love them. ..................That is until lately. I was really upset about a total of 4 white blouses that looked to have some kind of light splattered stains on them after washing. I would try to wash them again with a stain remover sprayed or scrubbed on the spots, but they wouldn't come clean. I gave up and considered the blouses ruined. I told William what was happening and he called the repair man out because he thought it might be some kind of part in the machine that was leaking oil onto the clothes when they were washing. The guy came out and told William that there wasn't anything that could go into the washer tub and get onto the clothes. He then looked around in the washer and at the little detergent dispenser drawer. He suggested that we use 1 cup of Clorox and 1/4 cup of dish washer detergent (cascade with dawn degreaser crystals) on a hot to medium water temperature and turn it on a complete wash cycle to make sure that we didn't have mold and mildew setting up in our machine. After he left, I proceeded to do what he told us. I though.....the blouses are probably ruined anyway. I had tried to get out all the spots to no avail, so what the heck......I threw them into the mix too! Would you believe they came out clean, very bright white (instead of yellowed or dingy from continued wear) and the washer smells as sweet as it did when it was new. Why didn't they tell me about this when I bought it ??????????? I plan on putting the detergent mix in the washer every couple of months and throwing in all the whites that I can find to take advantage of the cleaning effect on the whites. (I thought that maybe some of you had gotten stains on white clothes that you would like to get out too)
