Can an older battery be re built ?

It's called rejuvenating. Yes, it can extend the life of an old, dead battery, but not for long. If the battery will take a charge, it might work. Until it doesn't.
You know that motorcycle batteries are recyclable, don't you? When you buy a new one, they give you a discount for returning the old one. New batteries generally work a whole lot better than old, rejuvenated batteries.

Motorola flip phone

Hello Moto!

Larry not know the model of the phone but assuming the general age, I would consider either replacing the battery or the entire phone. Certainly a great (and reliable) phone in it's day but the technology has changed so much that you will continue to have challenges. I went thru similar "withdrawals" ;-) but I can assure you a simple inexpensive smart phone will provide inexpensive communication and provide a platform for understanding(if that is the case) the newer phone technology. Save yourself the headache, make the switch, donate the phone to charity as-is.

Best of luck,

My latte espresso battery keeps dying to fast when it's an 8gb and suppose 2 last for 6-7hrs but it only lasts about 3mins can somebody please tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ifthe rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Technologically challenged...I didn't buy home charger but will...can I charge by plugging into my laptop?

You didn't say what you want to charge but most devices that can connect to a USB port of a computer and contain rechargeable batteries can be charged by connecting them to the computer. Garmin satnavs take 8 hours to charge compared to 4 hours on an ac or car charger. I hope this answers your question

Batery faillure

Advanced Battery Management Technology Prevents Premature Failure and Significantly Extends Battery Service Life
Batteries are the most critical component in the reliability of any UPS, but they face three fundamental challenges: All Batteries Need Charging
But extended charging significantly shortens battery life. Most batteries are charged with a trickle-charging process (a constant voltage feeding a low current to the battery). This method dries the electrolyte and corrodes the plates, reducing potential life by up to 50%.
Batteries Take Time To Recharge
Users can’t wait. During prolonged power outages, the UPS batteries will discharge and not recharge until the power returns. When there is a subsequent power failure before the batteries recharge, the computer will not have full backup time. Overly rapid charging can cause premature battery failure, so the trick is to charge at the fastest rate that is safe for the battery.

All Batteries Will Eventually Fail
The question isn’t “Will it happen?” but “When will it happen?” Because UPS batteries are valve-regulated, sealed lead acid, there has previously been no practical way to provide the user with any meaningful advance notice that batteries need to be replaced. In the past, the only way to know when the batteries were dead was when the power failed and took your computer down with it. Until now, typical UPS batteries have required replacement every two to three years.
Our exclusive ABM technology solves these UPS battery problems. It significantly increases the life of UPS batteries (see Figure 1), provides the fastest safe recharge time, and provides reliable advanced notice when the batteries need replacement. By extending battery life and virtually eliminating this major cause of surprise load crashes, we are able to offer the industry’s longest and most inclusive warranties on all products that incorporate ABM. No other manufacturer can make this statement.
ABM technology is available on Powerware 5115, 5125, 9120, 9125, 9140, 9155, 9170+, 9355, and BladeUPS UPSs.

Battery shows 24.8 volts no power

Yes, your batteries are trashed. You need to replace them. Or take them off the chair and put them on a car charger, slow charge. They need to be up over 24VDC. If they fall under 24VDC the charger won`t recognize them and won`t charge.
