Colors arched and overlapping

if the option for convergence is still listed under the setting section of the on screen menu, then you need a convergence power supply board. If the convergence option is missing from the menu you need the ITC222 convergence missing repair kit. You can get either one at the following link they include instructions for the repair.

Samsung HCN4727W Rear Projection TV, green screen, audio works

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai2_bing.gif,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

I smelled something burnt and a clicking noise

This is a Common problem, you have shorted convergence amplifiers, some of these have a small board that is mounted behind the CRT's with a red plug/blue wire, these are incredibly easy to replace, some samsungs have the convergence circuits mounted on two tall heatsinks on a big board with the high voltage transformer (has 3 big red leads comming out of it) and requires alot more work to replace, if you are uncertian I would call the repair man, you can look to spend around $350-500 I would suspect, if you call someone might ask what convergence board replacement would cost.
