update the firmware on the remote. this will get it out of safe mode and working again.
- connect the remote to your computer and launch the software
- click downloads at the top of the screen
- click firmware
- update the remote
Safe mode is used to maintenance purpose. Sometimes after your remote enters safe mode you may need to update remote firmware in order to go back to normal mode.
Sometimes you want to put the remote in safe mode to recover from the LCD "blue screen of death" or other unsavory events. Usually you do this just before you update the remote's firmware (not software). So, you can try connecting to your computer via USB and, using the Logitech Software, go to Downloads-->Firmware. If you can get through the firmware update, you will probably be ok. Good luck
