Does it work when you go to the "game" submenu and scroll down to the disc option? If this works then the autoload game setting is turned off in your settings menu

I had the exact same problem. The issue for me wasn't the bluray drive
as the above poster had said. For some reason there's a bug in this
years Madden that makes it hate profiles. Go to your saved games and delete your profile, you'll be able to access all of your game modes like normal after this, but you'll have to regularly reset the difficulty. Hope this helps!
Dude I have this same problem!! Ever since the first time I loaded Madden 11 content, I've had nothing but problems. I thought I fried my console because nothing would load up, kept getting frozen. Only after I ripped out all saved Madden content was I able to play any of my games. WTF!! 60 bucks for what??
It could be that they are doing server maintanence on the servers. I play Socom online and they have scheduled maintanence everyday. Did the game seem laggy the last time you played? Are you having any issues on PSN?
download the update to a usb key, insert it to ps3 and when prompted as to how u wanna do the update, choose the massive storage device or usb or whatever it asks you.
THERE COULD BE A THERMAL ISSUE WITH UR SYSTEM IF IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY THEN GO AND DUMP THE MACHINE TO THE SERVICE CENTRE AND U WILL GET A NEW CONSOLE
Hey You Must Go to Your Controller Settings in Madden 08 and Activate Vibration. If That Doesnt Work Download and Install This application - LGS501.exe ( Search In Google) And Select Vibration Before Download. In that Application You can control everything. NOTE: IF THIS DOESNT WORK MADDEN 08 IS NOT VIBRATION SUPPORTED.
