My washer won't agitate or spin. I did all of the usual things (checking load, etc. and the door switch seems to be OK, as with front loads, they won't even fill without the door switch working.

IN wash mode, I hear it trying to turn; in spin mode it just makes a quiet hum, not like when washing. Thanks for the hand.

No agitation or spin? try these:

Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and
Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly.

Drive Motor If the washer won't spin or agitate the drive motor might be defective. This is not common. Check all of the other related parts to this symptom before replacing the motor. If the motor is visibly burned out or physically damaged, replace it.

Stator Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed.

Transmission or clutch assembly not engaging due to going out or slipping.

Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Motor Control Board If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor control board might be defective. The motor control board provides power to the motor as well as direction and force. If the motor control board is defective the washer may not work at all or function properly.

How can I use jumpers to test 131763202 Frigidaire door lock switch on washer? Won't agitate or spin.

Hi slogjlog - Often when a unit does not spin or agitate, it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the washer may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.

Washer won't agitate or spin

Hello there and welcome to fixya
there are several things that you will need to check first ok please verrify the following
It doesn't pump or spin
If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:
If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.
If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

WASHER WILLNOT SPINOUT

Usually when this occurs the lid switch has failed, even though it may seem ok
The lid switch is a safety device for the spin cycle. When it breaks the washer will
still agitate and not spin out. Hope this helps.

Washer wont drin or spin

The problem is one of several things. Normally if the machine won't spin out
the problem is the lid switch. (They may seem ok but are often broken). Second is
that the timer point has become burnt and pulled off the timer switch itself.

If the washer agitates but doesn't spin, then replace the lid switch. Otherwise
I would first check the connector to the motor (Underneath the machine) for
obvious burn spot on the connector (the high speed pin) and if that is ok
then the timer has had a contact point fail and needs replacement. This machine is
direct drive so inspect the coupler when checking the connector. Hope this helps.
