How do you continue to record using previously recorded file on the sanyo xacti

- you can continue recording if you have'nt stopped the recording or if you have'nt turned off the camcorder yet .
-you can pause a recording then continue when you want.
-your camcorder will record clips and you can always connect all those video clips as one using a may use video editing softawares like windows movie maker to connect your clips

*your steps would be
-transfer video clips to computer
-open your video editing software and arrange your video clips as you want them to then save the video. :)

* just reply or post your inquiries here if you have additional questions :)

Everio movie editing

First check sound settings on control panel, ensure volume is not at minimum and computer audio is not muted. Test playing a CD.

this is usually due to Media Player or whatever player you use on your pc, not having the right codecs to decompress sound from camera file.

Usually you sort it out upgrading media player, you can download update from links below.

  1. Windows Media Player 10
  2. Cumulative update for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista

Hello! I'm using a softwer : movie shaker 3.1. for Sony Handycam DCR-IP5E Micro MV Digital Camcorder and it is unable to scan longer clips then 2-3minutes,that is the maximum... Has anyboy idea for this...

You need to use DV Port in camcorder to transfer movie files into computer that must has same DV Port.
USB port can not be used to transfer movie files as its just to provide still picture data.
DV Port is maybe labeled as iLink in your camcorder so hook camcorder with computer with DV cable.
Hope this info will help you.

Transfer video to my desktop

you can do that by using your bundled software for your video camera. but if you dont have one, you can always download at

when you already have the video downloaded to your computer, you can always clip it and reduce its filesize so that you can send it thru email to reduce the upload time to your email.

hope this helps you.

Can't transfer video to PC

I could not find the manual for this model on the web, so I'm giving you my best guess.

I found some information that said you could transfer still images and Motion-JPEG video clips to your computer using the USB port.

In general you cannot transfer video to your computer using a USB. To transfer video from most camcorders you need a DV (Firewire, also called 1394) cable. You also need some software.

I'm thinking that when you have an SD card in your camcorder there's some way to tell it you wish to record Motion-JPEG clips to the card rather than full video to the tape. If you've created a standard recording I don't think you'll be able to transfer it with USB.

I believe Windows Movie Maker will let you connect to your camera using a DV cable. I used software called Scenalyzer. A full demo is available free of charge at The demo will leave a "watermark" on your video. If you like the software you'll need to buy it in order to capture video without the watermark.

If you have any more questions, let me know.
