Re: Rear view camera setting???

Dear debbie,
This could be caused by the following:
Purple/white "reverse sensor wire" not connected to vehicles reverse lamp harness. (Are your reverse lamps functioning?)
Reverse cam video out not connected to Kenwood's "rear view camera input" (Yellow RCA socket behind the unit).
The monitor set up controls merely switch R-cam betwen "full, just, zoom and normal" modes. No provision here to ebnable or disable the cam.
When you put your car in reverse dos the monitor screen change?.

Getting a blue screen from rear view camera, worked fine until today

Blue screen is generally no signal from camera, possibly broken camera feed wiring or bad connection, if the camera is on a tailgate, breaks occur where the wiring leaves the tailgate to th car body, good luck.

There is a black power cable with two leads for the power for the camera but I don't have in the instructions what to do with it

This is how to hook up the Pyle PLCM7300BT:
On the license plate camera, plug the black cable provided with 2-wires inside (one red and one black) to its counterpart on the camera. On the open end of this black cable, strip and connect the black wire to the car/truck metal body part.
Connect the red wire from the camera and the green wire from the monitor (part of the big black cable from the monitor) to the power wire to the back-up lamp socket.
Connect the Red wire from the monitor to a switched terminal on the fuse box so that it would only have power when you have the ignition key on.
The rest of the wiring is simple and common sense.
To operate, turn on the ignition of you car/truck and put it on reverse you should see the camera view. Put the car/truck on Park, the monitor screen should go back, if not, push the power button once.
To set up the blue tooth: Push the power button on the monitor so that you can see the blue screen and "no Input". Put your phone on discoverable mode and push scan for device. AT the same time push the "pair" button on the monitor.

I did all the figuring out on the bench using a 12 VDC power supplies and contact switches to make sure I understood how it worked. Once installed on my 1988 Suburban, it worked as expected.

The only problem I had to patch the long green wire (reverse car) so that it reached the back-up light socket.

Let me know if you still have problems. Email me at

Have put on a reversing camera and it work a treat. Only problem is that as soon as I start to move backward the pitcher disappears. Is there something that can be put into place so that it stays on??

you can not view a screen while your driving its against the law. there is a wire that is connected to your shifter that tells the monitor to turn off and on. find that wire and ground it and the montor will stay on all the time. why would you want a rear camera on all the time anyway?

The rear camera have two wires: one is Video AV2 and the other is black/red color, OK. Now, my question is:Where to connect the black/red wire? Thank you.

This is the power connection.

You need to connect this to a 12v switching circuit to enable the camera to overide the current display.

For example, you could attach it to the reversing light switch in the gear box so that when you select reverse the picture is over ridden with your camera view. Or to the reversing lamp. You could connect it direct to a switch for manual control.

Back A Car Signal

The speculation on this webpage: makes it sound like it is a trigger to switch the monitor to display a rear-facing camera when you put the car into reverse. You would either wire it to a manual switch (to 12v) or to your reverse lights. Keep in mind, this is not an authoritative answer. Good luck, and let us know if this helps!
