It should work, simply plug your PSC to your PC/Laptop and go to devices and printers, you'll see it there and then you'll see "Needs Troubleshooting. Click on your device with the right button of your mouse, and you'll see at the bottom of the drop down list "Troubleshooting" run it and follow instructions, after that should be working.

This depends on why it is reading offline. First check if the printer is on and if any error lights are on. A common issue is the printer was out of paper and after refilling the tray, the OK button was not pushed. Next check the cable, reseat both sides. Try a new cable, under 9 feet long. If you use a print server or USB hub, try a direct connection.
Make sure the USB ports work by trying a known good device. Check the device manager in case the USB ports need a driver update or were disabled for security (In Windows: Start > Control Panel > Hardware > Device Manager (exact placement may vary)). Check that the USB ports aren't sleeping in the Advanced Settings of the Screen Saver.

u have to check the ink catridges(black and colour) in the printer whether the ink is full ,bcos if the ink is low this problem arise check if the printing page is un single colour if it is then ink is a problem
www.hp.com has the executables for both driver only and full features. If you're saying you dont have a high speed connection, I dont have a solution other than hardware upgrade.
