The freezer is one week old and stand alone like fridge. The freezer was tilted w/ dolly while running to make it even with existing matching fridge. (Fridge was replaced because of terrible noise) The freezer now does not ever cycle off. It has been 24 hrs + of constant running. It cycled before this.

Re: Model # PLFU1778ES Fridgidaire
Tilting it would not do any harm while running the tilting theory is if you lay a fridge over on its side the oil in the compressor can run into the suction tubing and it is recomended not to plug it in right away . this is to alow the oil time to run back into the compressor housing. did you posibly loose some air space around the freezer. refrigeration is all about the removal of heat. if you block the air flow around the unit it may not be able to aceave the low teperatur set points. hope this helped

What to do if your refrigerator is warm, but your freezer is stillcold. ... Cleaning them is a good idea, even if it isn't the cause, because it will improve the fridge's efficiency. ... How does thefreezer fan's failure cause a fridge not to stay cold? .... How To Fix Your Fridgidaire Refrigerator (if the compressor won't ..
The answer to your question is an easy one! But not one you are going to like..
There is only one refrigerator/freezer combo, that I know of, that will work in a garage during the winter months and that is the gladiator..
I pulled up your owners manual and on page 9 it says
"do not install the refrigerator where the temperature will go below 60'f because it will not run often enough to maintain proper temperatures"
This is in every owners manual I have ever looked at with minor differences in the temperature rating.
It has one thermostat.. and that thermostat is looking for 36'-40' typically so if you get a string of days that are 40' out then the fridge may only come on a couple times a day causing the freezer to defrost but the fridge to stay normal. The fridge may freeze on colder days.
This issue is nothing new and salesmen sell you a fridge that they say will work in the garage but the owners manual says otherwise.
Frigidaire came out with a garage kit that did not work.. Then a control board to monitor run time and that doesn't work either..
A stand alone freezer will be fine.. or a stand alone fridge will be ok too unless it freezes from outdoor temperature.. But a combo will not work unless it is a gladiator. Or some very expensive "dual cool" units that no one would spend that kind of money for something in the garage.
I'm in Ohio so I am familiar with the Northeast :)
is what it sounds like to me. The defrost system melts away the frost in the
cooling coils every 6 or 8 hours. This water goes into a tray at the bottom of the freezer compartment. there is a drain spout in the bottom of the tray. The water then goes through that into a plastic drip pan. This sits behind the vent below the doors. While the fridge is running, the water evaporates out into the the room. If the pan is missing, or cracked for some reason, the water goes onto the floor. And that's were the water is coming from. The Fridge is not broken. With the model number of the fridge, probably located on a placard inside the fresh food compartment, or possibly the freezer compartment, you can order a new drip pan from a parts supply house for something like $25.00 The easiest thing to do would be to put in it's place an inexpensive aluminum pan of sorts. that usually will do the trick and save money. I hope this helps, Happy New Year, Mark
Check your connection at the bottom of the freezer door, behind the kick plate. Also pull out your crisper drawers and check the cold water reservior. If this only leaks when the water dispenser is pressed I would try to track the line from the bottom of the freezer door back to where it goes into the refrigerator (behind the crispers) to the cold water reservior.
If you absolutely have to lay this fridge down lay it on it's BACK only. Also be sure to let it stand upright for at least a half an hour before you start it back up.
Good luck with this!!
Leave it turned off for a day or two and the refrigerant will most likely recover. What happens is that tilting the fridge can cause liquid to flow to places where it shouldn't be and vice versa. In most cases it will fix itself if you leave it alone.
Obviously, you may need some ice and coolers in the meantime.
i have just purchased a float with a kitchen in it the fridge is a heller bar fridge not sure on model and for the 2nd use it is running but not getting cold or icing up the freezer what do i do to fix it it wouldnt be 10 weeks old
I have a 10KW stik welder/generator. I have no problem running a large freezer and 2 fridges except for the startup current draw. I have a $300 transfer switch connected to a 60amp sub panel with current meters on each leg. I have to watch the current draw and turn on & off breakers. I do have to play the "green acres" game because I have the water heater, well pump, and kit ckt all connected as well. Coffee machine, toaster, oil furnace, microwave all have to take turns as well as the water heater(4500WATTS). Cost was about$3500 in 2001 and $600 for a generator shed. lots of my labor. Last time we lost power it payed for itself. 28 hours without a generator would have been a trip to a hotel and lots of spoiled food to dump. hot shower and coffee anytime a big +
