I also have the same model Sony with the exact problem. No picture, no sound. Tried to turn TV on and get about 4 red flashes. I hear a 'click' noise when I turn it on and hear another 'click' about 4-5 seconds later. Seems like it's trying to turn on but nothing happens.

    Same problem.

Press power button, hear Whoosh/Click, standby LED flashes, nothing comes on.

Sony 27"TV will not turn on

The picture tube on your tv is dead, you need to replace it. It probably will be worthing just purchasing a new set, because the cost of repairing it will be close to the purchase of a new one.

TV solution

You may have a bad solder joint on the horizontal driver transformer or somewhere else in the set. I found this problem with this transformer several times. Stargazer
