Most likely blockage in the foot. Check for hair etc wrapped on the brush and clogging suction port. Twist 3 plastic 'screws' ati clockwise 1/2 a turn and remove base to access the brushes.

My Dyson DC14 had no suction...see if this works...turn the Dyson upside down...there is a length of hose that connects the bottom of the vacuum to the top, careful remove one end of the hose and check for debris...mine was clogged. Removed the clog and voila...it works. Thanks for the above info on checking the hose for cracks.

SOURCE: Loss of suction

There should be a sponge like filter in the area of the canister and no this is NOT the HEPA filter. When you find this other filter you will want to bang it off outside and then put it back in and you should be all set.

My dyson dc25 pipe has lost suction..is something stuck in the pipe?

We had the exact same issue. Turns out my wife had inadvertantly sucked up a magnet that was the same size ans the tube. Hold the tube up to a light source. If you cannot see any light, there is something stuck in it. To dislodge the item, stretch out a wire hanger and run it through the tube. It should lislodge the item. Dyson's are great but are very tempermental!

My dyson has lost suction

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

A loss of suction is normally attributed to a blockage or a dirty filter.

A full blockage procedure and filter washing guide can be found in your user guide or in our website Support section at www.dyson.com.

Should you still be experiencing difficulties after carrying out these checks, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

A Dyson dc 17 Animal and the wand/hose has lost suction

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the wand/hose is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose assembly from the machine, switch it on and test the suction from the top of the wand with your hand. If the suction is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction from the top of the hose. If its good here, then you know that the wand handle is blocked.

For the full diagnostics, check out the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com or call our Helpline on 1866MYDYSON.

Kind regards
Darran
