I want to upgrade my video

I have a ati radeon video card I would like to add to my dc7100. Can I do this with a PCI riser card? If not, then how can I upgrade my video on this system?

Hi Johngalbr
happy Holidays
What of the 3 models is yours? convertible, little form factor? or ultracompact system? depending on that, you may usa a PCIE video card, or a single card.(riser) you can try to see in BIOS setting if you can do this too.
good luck

Will an ati radeon 9250se graphic card be compatible in an emachine d2244 computer? there are two empty pci slots on the motherboard above the one that has the phone and modem conections. i have upgraded...

I am presuming you have XP on your computer.

According to ATI, this graphics board should work fine in a spare PCI slot.

Install in the top PCI slot as your CMOS detects top to bottom.
XP should detect the ATI board and will ask for drivers.
Install your CD drivers and or software as needed.

If you have VIsta or Windows 7, it does not appear ATI supports them for drivers.

Good Luck

Adjusting video card ram

You cannot add more ram to your graphic card, If you want more ram for optimum system performance I recommend buying a new ATI, or NVIDIA graphic card to replace the old one. they both have the best cards on the market and visit their site at NVIDIA or for more cards information and where to buy them.
I recommend 256MB RAM for PCI systems, 512MB RAM for AGP systems and 1GB RAM for PCI-EXPRESS systems.

Need help disableing onboard video, and installing PCIe video card.

Hi rebelel1271, I do have the manual for you're Intel motherboard. You can have it as well. Click on the link below to download you're manual. document.write("D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals") D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals
Intel states you do not need to make any bios changes when you add a PCI-Express video card. See this on page 17, PCI and PCI Express Auto Configuration. Before installing you're PCI-E video card, open windows controll panel. Than open add/remove programs. Look for the driver software for you're onboard ATI Radeon X200. Uninstall that software. (If listed). Close all opened windows & shut down windows. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Open the case. Install you're new ATI Radeon X800 PCI-E video card. Double check all internal connections, (In case you may have bumped loose any cables). You're X800 may also have a 3-pin or 4-pin male power connector built on the card. If so, plug power to the X800.
Intel D101GGC driver page.*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21#DOC
ATI's web site for the latest driver's.
A little information. Once you're PCI-E has been installed. You're system memory will increase.

Good Luck!
If I can help you further, feel free to post here.

Comparable cards to the ATI All In Wonder 9700 Pro 128 MB

Hello there. The Radeon 9700 Pro was a high end graphics card in its time. Today the latest Radeon cards are 3870X2, 3870 and 3850 models. The 3850, while mid-high end range, would be a substantial upgrade from the Radeon 9700 Pro.

If you are planning to upgrade your system, make sure you choose the correct type of card (AGP/PCI-E) and that your current system has a good enough power supply to power a new upgrade.

Hope this helps.
