Question about Lexmark P3150 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I finally got brave and opened my unit up to find that there is a presure switch in the back right corner. The printer door presure switch is in the back right corner. If you lift up the printer door you will see a light gray angle piece that goes down into the printer from the scanner bed. That is where the presure switch is. Most likely the little black rocker arm (it's about one inch long) came lose fromthe switch. You need to reseat the arm.
You have to remove the scanner cover door.
Then lift the printer door up and to the front left the red support needs to be disconnected from the Scanner bed. This is done by squeezing the top of the support until it releases.
Then you need to release the scanner bed from the printer. With the printer door up, look to the back right you'll see a light gray stop sticking down into the printer bed. Gently push that to the right and the scanner bed will be released from the printer. (It will have a little hook on the end.)
Now you can get at the two screws in the back corners of the top of the printer. Remove them and the two frot corner screws.
There are little tabs holding the top of the printer inplace. You need to work the top out of the tabs. Watch out for the 3 ribbon cable in the back right.
Move the top up and out of the way and then you can see the presure switch on the board to the back right. There should be a rocker arm pointing straight up so the scanner bed will hit it.
I had the very same problem. It was very tricky getting the plastic lids and other plastic items apart and then back together successfully. Using a small, straight screwdriver edge was helpful as a prying tool to separate the lid fingers from the plastic base.
Also, having a second person to assist was critical in order to feed ribbon cables back through lid and holding the scanner assembly at the same time. A great deal of patience and trial-and-error attempts are required. Using a very intense light source and a large magnifying glass or viewer will also help.
The black rocker arm fits on top of a very, very small microswitch that is mounted on the vertical circuit board. Lining up the lid with the gray, beveled device that contacts the black rocker arm should show you how to align the rocker arm.
This design indicates just how sloppy design manufacturing has become over the years ... all in the name of low-cost. Good luck to the rest of you Lexmark printer owners!
