I have an alpine air xl-15 purifier. It was not making ozone so I looked inside and there is a part right below the plates that I have not seen before. It is round and looks like an earpiece to a headphone, with a tube coming out the back end leading to the front of the unit, to the back of the fan. The round part has a cartridge end that plugs into a slot right below the plates. It has three prongs on the cartridge with a jumper on two of them. I took the jumper off, and moved it from prongs 1&2, to prongs 2&3. I turned the unit back on it worked right away! I could hear the plates buzzing, and could smell the ozone strongly. The green light that says purifier on the front of the unit also came on. It worked fine for about 2 hours, then it stopped making ozone again, and the green light turned off. I have not been able to get it to generate ozone since. The fan works fine, but the plates will not work now. I have tried switching the jumper back to prongs 1&2, but nothing works.
Everything is perfectly clean.
Can anyone help me? Also what does the part with the jumper do? My mom has the same unit but hers does not have this part in it.
