Sony KP-53HS30 Visual Problem

Ok heres the deal, yesterday I went to move the cables in the back of my TV. After making sure all of the connections were in place, I experienced my TV having visual problems.

The display seems to curve inward towards the center of the screen. Also, there is some ghosting where colors are off. I can still watch TV but it looks like I need 3D glasses now.

This is really unbelievable that a problem can occur just by checking wires. I hope I do not need to replace any part.

Is there anyone that knows how to get this fixed and if so can you please give step by step instructions because I know many people have the same problem! I checked many many sites for the last 2 days and I can't find someone with a complete solution. All I ever see is "go to the service menu"! What settings do we use after!? Anyways hopefully someone can help me and others instead of just a generic response.

TIA

Thanks for the link, but I don't think this is the route I want to go, is there any way I can fix the set through the service menu?

Does anyone have any experience when the set is like this?

    Thanks either way ctf1800

if the set is left like this you will burn up some resisters and ic's and then the set will turn off. best to call for service or a friend that knows how to solder.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

According to the tech manual I looked at, it's a bad board - it just doesn't say which board. Sorry. Looks like it's making a trip to the shop.

Good luck.

My picture is red

if you are using component cables, make sure all are plugged in on both the back of the tv and the cable box. (component cables will have a red and white audio and red, blue, green video)

Sony KP-53HS30 Projection TV has pink and blue hue w/timer blink

Depending on your TV, you may have a Color Temperature (Color Temp) and/or Hue setting in the menu. Use these options to adjust the picture to the setting that best suits your viewing preference.
If your TV has a Color Temp setting, you will normally have the following options to select from:
  • Cool: Gives the picture a cooler, slightly bluish appearance.
  • Neutral: Gives the picture a neutral, more natural look and appearance.
  • Warm: Gives the picture a warmer, slightly reddish appearance.
If your TV has a Hue setting, follow the appropriate step below to make adjustments:
  1. Move the setting to the right to reduce the reddish appearance.
  2. Move the setting to the left to reduce the greenish appearance.

Pink? If this is a retangular box that appears then I would suggest to look into the fact that you have turned on "TEXT" mode within the "CC" closed caption settings.

Connecting the laptop VGA output to my Sony-KP-53HS30

There are products such as VideoSecu PC to TV Presentation Converter. I haven't used them. I'm not sure you are going to get the resolution that you want. A DLP projector does a pretty good job. I know that is not what you are looking for.

Type "PC to TV Converter" in Google. They are about $40 to $60 bucks. Before you buy one, read the reviews.

I have the same problem as faye95. My Kp-53HS30 tv clicks on and then turns back off and red light blinks on and off. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and where can I get a free service manual o

Free service manuals are hard to find and often they are complete. You can get the sony factory service manul at the following link for 15.99 and they will give free unlimited online tech support when you get the manual. They email the manual and info on getting the support instantly after purchase. heres a link if you would like.

Progressive scan

progressive scan? does your tv support 720p, or 1080p HD? (the p actually stands for progressive scan).
Another alternative to that is: http://www.playerschoicevideogames.com/pd_psp.cfm

A bit more expensive, but i think it works on any tv.
