Hello Surfside 6
Happy Holidays!
Beside the other capabilities, your DVD has this only capabilities.
Optical Drive Write Speed 10x (CD-RW) • 2.4x (DVD+RW) • 2x (DVD-RW
you have to make a test, with the recording program with a DVD-R cd.
good luck

My recorded tv freezes when trying to watch them

The whole thing freezes? As in the mouse or keyboard won't even work?

If it's just the video that freezes and you can shut it off, most likely it's a codec issue. Which is dumb since everything you're using came packaged together in the unit. Installing a third party codec pack would solve this issue.

Though, if you're whole PC is freezing when you try to play a video then I have a few other questions to ask you to narrow the potential problems down:

1. Open up the player that opens automatically when you try to watch something, but don't load a video into it. Did everything still freeze?
2. If not, then open a video file that is not something you recorded from TV, like a DVD or a video clip from the net. Did it freeze then?
3. When it freezes, does it freeze instantly? Or does it run for a little bit then freeze. If the latter is the case, what happens in the time between opening the file and the lock down?

Do you know why when I burn a dvd on my computer, I can watch in on my computer but not on my dvd player? that is what I am needing to do

Hello there, I am the computer technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Matt Stratton.

See Mr Stratton the computer is a very multi capable piece of tech and it is able to read multiple video formats. Where as your DVD player is usually only capable of reading a few video formats.

What you need to do is check which video formats are supported by your DVD player. Then once you have this information use a program/application on your computer to convert your video from the existing format into one that is supported by your DVD player.

Please do some research with regards to video conversion it will help a great deal.

Take care!

How do i rip and burn a dvd? model el1210 e machine

Put a blank recordable dvd in the dvdrom and close the drive. You should get a pop up that asks you what you want to do? it should give you options like open file, record dvd ect. Close this pop up and go to the file and/or movie you want to rip to the dvd and right click on top of it with your mouse. You will get a drop down list with many options - choose send this to and choose your dvd player and this will send the move to your recording software to burn your dvd. You will see a pop up message on the bottom right side of your screen near your clock that says "you have files to write". click on the messge and then choose burn.

Recording from sky planner to dvd

Yep all you will need is a DVD recorder Philips do a good low cost version DVDR 3380 and a Philips DVD+RW ( this is the type that you don't need to finalize before you can use it in your PC)

All you have to do is make a connectiion to the video out of the Sky box using the suitable connection normally a SCART lead in to the EXT1 or EXT2 of your DVD recorder.

Play the Sky program in your planner and hit record don't forget to select the time you require 1 (HQ) 2,4 or 6 (SLP) hours. It will take as long as the program take to run to record it.

The best way to get the DVD-Video into your PC is to use the excellent TMPGEnc v4.0 Xpress from Pegasys use the Souce Video Wizard.

Then select the DVD-VR button this will read in the DVD content and then allow you to edit it and re-encode to almost any format.

If you select over 4 hours or recording most DVD standalone recorders will revert to Half D1 this equates to 360x576 instead of the Full D1 resolution of 720x576 (standard PAL for DVD-Video) you will need to use this filter to convert the half to full download it here Half D1 to Full D1

Questions about dvd recorder

Yes. You need to connect the vcr to your dvd player as you would if you were connecting to a tv. The vcr out to the dvd in.

My guess is you need a S-video cable or better to get a good solid connection. There should be info in the dvd manual. If you do not have one, post your make and model and we'll try to track one down for you.

I have tried to format a DVD,is the ACER ASPIRE 4310 Capable to record and use DVD's?

That's easy; you can't format DVDs on anything. You can format DVD+RAM if you want, but you want to be sure to use UDF filesystem 3.5 or so. DVD+R and DVD-R are already formatted, and you can only write them.

Your Acer's barely up to the job, but it can burn at 8-12x, I should think. Athlon XP 2700 are the low bar for burning at 12x. What matters most of course is whether a DVD burner is installed, and it seems that it is from what you can do so far....

I suspect what's missing here is DVD recording software, which you need to make much use out of a DVD burner and DVD-R blanks. Windows doesn't quite do it itself, though it pretends to be able to format blanks and have a way to burn backups to DVD, nobody should try that unless they want to see what an electronic Judas Chair Simulator feels like (thanks Tycho of!) If you're on Linux, just pick the tool you like or find a likely recent revision using; on Windows, you would use Nero ( ) which costs around $100, especially if your burner didn't already come with it (usually keyed on the serial number....) There are free options too; just check or to find out the variety of tools out there and what they're for.

That is, if you want to make DVD-videos out of some video you shot, that's different from just burning DVDs; checking out what's out there and some of the books (perhaps by reading some on the shelves or attending a video user group in your city) might help.

How do I use s-video for my tv?

Your TV is nothing more than a display device just like a monitor for you computer. If you TV has an S-Video interface on the back you are capable of plugging this into any video controller (e.g. DVD Player, Satellite Receiver, Computer, etc.) that also has a S-Video adapter.

All you need is a long enough S-Video cable. You would also need to change the Video Input on the TV to the S-Video input in order to see what's actually being displayed by the device producing the display.

Hope this helps. I know it's a little general, but if you need more specific instruction please provide more details of what you're tyring to do.

Connect PC to TV?
Connect DVD Player to TV?
Connect Satellite Receiver to TV?
and so on...
