Question about RIM BlackBerry 7100G Smartphone

1 Answer

Bluetooth has stopped transmitting

All of a sudden the Bluetooth isn't transmitting or receiving sound, though it does show as connected.  I've tried disabling/reenabling to no avail.  The problem manifests itself both w/ a headset and w/ my car, so it is definitely the phone.

Make sure your version of bluetooth for the hand held device and the listening device is not an old version. The first generation of blue tooth was able to transmit sound (for phone calls), but not able to transmit stero sound or mp3.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful... :)

A2dp pairing problems

The Victsing unit states that it is a receiver. This will receive the wireless signal from a device and output sound through the headphone jack. A bluetooth transmitter would input sound into the headphone jack from your tv or other source and transmit the signal over bluetooth to a paired receiver. Two of the same type of unit will not pair with each other.

How do i wirelessly connect the reciever to the speaker system/tv?

You'll want to research an adapter for this. Radio shack probably has one of the most inexpensive units available today, but you can find others online, with better quality sound. Start with a google search for what you are trying to do. Google, "how to connect speakers to stereo, wireless".

Keep in mind, not all speakers are created the same. Some have amplifiers in them and some do not. This will change the type of adapter you will need.

Fairly new adapters on the market may transmit audio over a wireless network or even Bluetooth, you will need to research your receiver and/or tv to see if either of these are options for you. Another common thing is a range of branded theatre A/V sound systems with wireless sub woofer and/or back speakers.

Good luck with this, it should be a fun project.

Radio stopped receiving all of a sudden while driving down the road. When I removed the cover it smelled as though a component had burned up

If you were talking on it prior to it going south, you may have burned out the transmit final output transistor (Final). If the Finals shorts out, the receive goes way down.

Onkyo surround system. The subwoffer isn't making sound. I've tried all remote settings. No luck though. Any ideas?

Try checking that the wires are properly connected to receiver. Maybe the sub speaker is blown

Receiver will transmit t.v. sound but no picture

Maybe the video portion of your receiver was fried by the lightning. The good news is, you don't need it!
I run all my video sources (sattelite, xbox and dvd player) to my TV with hdmi cables, and a single toslink(optical) from the televison to my 5.1 home theatre receiver. it sounds great and I only use a single input of the receiver for all my video.

If your setup does not have toslink themn use coaxial digital. it is also one wire and probably is indistinguishable in sound quality.

for future, run the power for all your electronics through a UPS or fancy surge supressor to protect them from bad power (and lightning)

No sound unless VIDEO signal is plugged into receiver

Connect the DVD player audio with digital coax into the digital audio connection as you described and the DVD video directly to the TV. Now switch the input mode on the receiver to DVD. Then switch the video output mode on the TV to correspond to the input you plugged into. Any source in 5.1 dolby digital or dts should now work properly and have picture too.

You may try this, but it may make no difference so please don't take it hard.

When you are in the transfer sound menu of your phone, press and hold the key on your headset for five full seconds.

You may also have to go through the connect to device menu all over again and choose remove device and then add device, the pin code is usually all zeros.

If this helps you good. If not, please don't rate this solution but respond using the comment box below. There are other things to do, just try this first.
