Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU43 Built-in Dishwasher

Dishwasher running with door open

It appears that my dishwasher is running its drain as soon as I push the ON button, even with the door of the dishwasher open. However, if I close the door, it doesn't seem to get past the drain running. I took out the round drain cover and looked inside. Water is being flushed into the drain, and it seems to be getting sucked out. Any ideas?

Re: dishwasher running with door open

Most dishwashers will stick on pump if there is water in he base of the dishwasher . If you tilt the washer back only about 45 degs and water runs out of the back at the bottom the you have a leak but it could come from any where. But when there is no water in the base then your washer should start to work again until it fills back up

I have a SHU5305us/u12 and my front door lettering got erase. anyone have a picture or a manual that tells me what each button means.

Cycle Interruption

As a safety feature the dishwasher will automatically turn itself off whenever the door is opened. However, if the door is opened quickly while in a wash or rinse cycle some water may splash out of the dishwasher. For this reason it is recommended that the machine always be switched off before opening the door.

To Interrupt a Cycle

1. Press the on/off button to stop operation.

2. Wait at least 10 seconds (or until the water noises stop) before opening the door.

To Resume a Cycle

1. SHU/SHI models, close the door and press the on/off button.

2. SHV models, push the on/off button and close the door.

Changing a Cycle

For Bosch dishwasher models SHI 6800 and 4320, SHU 5300, 5310 and 6800 press the program button of the desired cycle TWICE. For all other Bosch dishwasher models, press the program button of the desired cycle ONCE. The chosen cycle button (or the light above it) becomes illuminated, showing that it has been selected.

* SHU 3030 and SHU 3130 models do not have program lights.

Cancelling a Cycle

Each control panel shows which buttons to simultaneously push to cancel a cycle. Refer to your dishwasher to find the cancel drain buttons on your particular model.

1. Press the indicated buttons at the same time and hold for approximately 3 seconds.

2. When the drain pump noises stop and the LED display or clean light indicate that the end of the cycle has been reached, the dish

washer is reset.

3. Press the on/off button to turn the dishwasher off.

4. The dishwasher is now ready to run a selected cycle. Add more detergent if necessary.

Why does drain motor start when pushing the start button on the door before the door is closed?

It's almost certainly the float switch in the bottom of the machine. In the bottom is a polystyrene 'float' that is either active due to water in the bottom or is faulty. Tip your machine to the side and remove water and try again, bridge or replace switch is also an option

My Frigidaire Dishwasher FDB1050RES2 gets stuck in a rinse cycle. The light on the front will be lit "clean" but the bottom of the washer is full of water. Opening the door does not turn off...

by the descrition you are giving you will need to replace the main control board.Part number may also need to check the float switch. The part will run about 110.00 dollars from a local parts store

My dishwasher has water going in to it and it drains but it's not making it to the arms, my dishes are still bone dry after all cycles even pre rinse.

it appears ur wash motor is not running.try this-start the unit and let it run for 2 min( this is the water fill period) and after 2 mins u should hear motor running and water splashing sound.u can even open the door and look for water falling from the spray arms.but after 2 mins if u hear only a humming sound and no water splash sound then motor is bad and needs to be chgd.drain motor is seperate for draining the water.

Water Remains in dishwasher after cycle

Few things to check....if it is a push the start button and then press the cancel button, the drain should engage. if it is a timer setup, turn it to the cycle start and close the door, will drain unit. If water doesnt drain and you hear a pump running then you have a sure to check your disposal plug, where the drain hose connects to. if water just appears in d/w while not in use check the drain hose position....should loop up from the drain to prevent backwash into d/w.

Whirlpool Dishwasher won't drain during normal cycle

As you say a clogged line or valve does not make sense.

Try running it without the heated drying and see if it empties or if the cancel button will work then.

The dishes should air dry quickly if you empty it and open the door.

It could be a defective thermostat allowing it to get too hot during the heat cycle

Dishwasher quit during cycle.

Need a little more info.. anyway.. open dr will shut off dw...close dr.. push power button until power on... lights on, but nothing happen.. try holding down drain and one of wash cycle.. repeat holding drain w/other buttons until you hear drain pump running.. make sure you hold both buttons for a few seconds.. if your drain pump works.. then, you might have a problem w/your wash motor or something is stuck in the impeller area.
